Hello everyone,
First let me introduce myself, my name is Lyo, I'm a French SW fan since the day I saw the movie when I was 7 (1977) and long time Collector. In advance, sorry fro my English !
I bought recently a very interesting document which is not supposed to exist… :)
A little history : 10 or 12 years ago, there was a so-called "Urban Legend" which say that it exist a very early Script of The Return of the Jedi, very different of what we know. It was supposed to be written en 1980, more than 1 year before the early draft of the script. I remember it was an actor (Maybe Hamill) who talk about it during an interview. At this time, everybody was looking for this document until somebody on the StarWars.com Forum deny it Completely. It is a Rumor, A Legend. I kept the post :
"One definite culprit in this legend's longevity is a revised plot synopsis treatment entitled "The Revenge and Return of the Jedi". Dated July 6 1980, (though undoubtedly printed at a later date), this concise retelling of the basic story -- with notable changes -- is a fake. It describes Luke taking over the Death Star (re-christening it the Life Star), Vader being the "other" Yoda spoke of, and Leia and Han marrying at the film's end, with Wicket one of the attendants at the wedding. It also contains the following passage:
"Meanwhile, the Death Star ray begins destroying Rebel ships. Lando and the Rebel Forces unsuccessfully attempt to penetrate the force field, and the efforts on Endor have failed. Lando sees many of his comrades dying for the Alliance. He feels that the Alliance might die itself if something is not done soon. Lando makes a final decision to plow the Millennium Falcon through the force field in a self-sacrificing gesture for the Rebel Alliance. Lando and the Falcon explode in a beautiful burst of energy and color."

A few month ago, I found in an auction a strange document entitled :
Revised plot synopsis of Episode VI "Journal of the Whills" titled "The Return and Revenge of the Jedi." Filed 7/6/1980. It has 25 pages, pages smell typewriter ink, red "confidential everywhere", property of lucasfilm LTD, with an authorization code number "stamped".

I found on the internet that the document which is not suppose dot exist is already filed in a Library in California.
I begin to be more and more interested… This file has the same name and same date that my file :
Box 62
Star Wars - Episode VI: Revenge of the Jedi. Revised plot synopsis of Episode VI "Journal of the Whills" titled "The Return and Revenge of the Jedi." Screenwriter: George Lucas 1980

The link is http://www.oac.cdlib.org/findaid/ark:/13030/kt8k4039d4/entire_text/
So the document EXISTS. And I have it and I don't what to think ;)
Any Clues ? If you are interested, I will post some Pictures.
My Best

For many years...hell, decades these have been surfacing....with all of them being considered fakes. It could be real......but with so many of them not being the real deal....you may be hard pressed to find a value or buyer.

The problem is everything's seems fine to me : the paper, the ink, the layout, the binder. It is surely from the 80's but with this kind of document, even an expert may have a doubt. I asked the Californian Library to have a copy of what they have. We'll see then… Thank to anyone who can (or can't ;) help me !
