Quite. You'd do will to get it for twice the price.

I loved Action Man as a kid, but never wanted to collect as an adult. But those first 100 lots or so make me want to pick up a few pieces. Just incredible!

This will go higher than £400. That's £33 per sealed palitoy speeder bike, if you open it.

What is more likely to happen is it will get u graded, so there will then be 12 sealed graded speeder bikes that come out of this, all worth considerably more than the £33 plus grading. Plus you still have an empty box that would go £100 - £200 in today's crazy market.

If I had the cash I would save this, but it's a lot of money to tie up in a box.

I may be wrong but I am going to guess between £750 and £850 for this.

Agree with you Ben. Although I wouldn't mind betting this little lot costs the winning bidder nearer £900-£1000.

So how about this: We find 6 (or more) forum members here who want a mint, sealed Speeder Bike. I know I would like one (prefer Palitoy, but these have a bit of an interesting story). We agree a price per Speeder we would pay. Someone then bids up to that amount, each take a nice Speeder and sell the rest?

I say 6 is the ideal number to ensure each gets a choice of two Speeders. The rest get sold, as is or if there are still come mint ones left, then graded. Although I wouldn't advocate grading and selling it comes down to common sense; if these things end up costing us nearly £100 each (ridiculous amount for a Speeder Bike!) then we have to be sensible and try and bring that cost down and to do that I'd suggest getting some boxed AFA90 would go a long way to doing that.

And as you say, the shipping case has to be worth £100 alone, so that brings the cost down a bit, too.

I haven't won anything that is clearly from the Frank Beech shop and I would like something. It's an historic find (in the vintage SW community, at least) and would be nice to own a piece of it.

If anyone is interested in the above please PM and maybe we can start sorting something. If anyone thinks it's slightly mad then feel free to say so on this thread :)

If you won this would you open it? Not sure what I would do. :?

Think i would have to keep it sealed, would be tempting to open as it would be a lot of money to look at a brown box

Maybe but thought I'd share it with everyone as it doesn't come round often and someone may have missed it

Nah, nothing on the vectis auctions goes under the radar. People forget the auctions on sometimes but that's about it.

Costs of these will come down to who's got money on the day. I wish you the best of luck Lindo. If you are going to keep this sealed I hope you get it for £200.

That'll teach me to read the description properly; didn't realise the case was fully sealed. I doubt it'll just reach £1000, it'll fly past it.

Although it would be nice for the average collector to have I can't see much of a point. In terms of display it's a brown cardboard box. I love what it is and the story behind it but this is going to cost a fortune if the earlier sales of sealed items is anything to go by. I can think of a few of the bigger collectors and archives that this would suit at that sort of price but just can't see one of us picking it up. Would it not just be a novelty for a while? I know I'd love it, but I'm not sure for how long given the amount of cash tied up.

U.K.
It is a cool piece. The prospect of U grading is so annoying.
It'll go for even more i reckon if Vectis etc did auctions on the weekend!
Out of my price range i'm afraid. Very nice, but as has been said, its a cardboard box.

This has been talked about before on here, the fact is whoever wins it deserves to do what they want with it IMO. I think it would be nice to be kept as it is but I'm not prepared to pay for it. It's a factory box full of speederbikes at the end of the day and that's it.

It is cool to own a sealed case of something like this but as others have said its not much to look at but owning it would be neat.

I dont mind owning a sealed boxed action man as i think the box artwork is better than the toy itself but then theres the question why not just own the box as never gonna see what's inside....but its just not the same for some reason.
