Hi, first post here!

I was recently sorting through my old stuff and found these.
It's amazing what you can find after nearly 40 years!!!!
I know most of it looks pretty worn, but I thought it might be interesting to some of you.

I've got some figures and boxed vehicles (plan to sell the vehicles) so I'll get those posted soon.

Thanks for looking!

As promised, my old figures :)

I went to see the original Star Wars at a cinema in Derby when it first came out. As soon as we left, we went straight to an amazing and long gone toy shop called Derby Toys. Out of all the figures, I chose the small head Han Solo. It's well worn but still my favourite!!!

I did keep all of the card backs, but they all got chopped up collecting the names for figures. Only got the Gamorrean Guard left..
The Emperor, Dengar, Nien Nunb and Admiral Ackbar all came from sending in the names.

I know it's only a small collection and some of them have disappeared over the years, but it does bring back a lot of happy memories

That's awesome! I'm impressed with how many of the original accessories you've held onto. Nothing beats your own cherished childhood figures.

Thanks! I'm glad you both enjoyed them.

Funny thing is, now I look at them I can remember where I got them from all those years ago. Back then it was quite special going into a toy shop to get something :D

I did hold onto most of the weapons and things, but a few are missing. They're probably mixed in with a box of Battle Action Force stuff but I've no idea where it is...

The toy shops I got most of figures from were about long before Toys R Us opened in the city. When that arrived, most of the small shops closed down!!!

Yeah, Lukes foot succumbed frost bite decades ago. He rode around on a Tauntaun after that accident

Can't ever remember buying anything from Woolworths. I think the main places I got figures from were Debenhams, Fine Fare (cheap supermarket), Golden Games and Derby Toys. Debenhams had plenty of figures, Fine Fare had all the unpopular stuff but Golden Games and Derby Toys were the best.

I'm sure Golden Games had two places in Derby, one was a normal toy shop and the other was like a wooden hut!!! You could find things really cheap at the hut. Quite a few of the things had French written on them. I can remember going there with my mum to get some things for my brothers birthday. We picked up a Snowspeeder, AT ST Scout Walker and something else really cheap :D I'll post them below.

Derby Toys was the most memorable, because it sold everything. A back wall at the front of the shop had every Corgi and Matchbox vehicle you imagine and on the opposite wall, Star Wars stuff. Loads of Japanese electric cars, tanks, trains, guns and other things. The back part was full of glass cabinets that you could walk around. These had every single thing Britains Toys made!!! Soldiers, knights, cowboys, tractors, everything. It was amazing :D :D :D

In later years, Derby Toys became a phone shop, tanning place and I'm sure I remember it selling cheap furniture not that long ago....
