Now that I think about it I believe you answered your own question. Its all in how you identify yourself. You either collect for some satisfaction in some degree weather it be a focus or a completist.
OR
You Invest to hopefully make a profit.

I would not look at it as a Investment in money. Just my opinion. Sure you can make money, there is money to be made just about anywhere as long as there is demand. If you get it at a steal of a price of course theres money to be made. Inflation comes into play as well. Demand drives prices, scarcit...

Yes, thats yellow. Probably traveled to Japan at some point. I notice a lot of carded figure from Japan seem to be yellow.

I can remember going to ol fleas and getting pieces in the early 2000's for next to nothing. I remember buying foreign back then and everyone was on the hunt for kenner. Not too many people paid attention to the foreign, so that was usually passed on and sold very cheap compared to kenner counterpar...
