Re: MillionsofToys - eBay seller to avoid

Unfortunately I have also just had a very poor experience buying from this seller. I bought a carded Return of the Jedi figure from millionsoftoys on eBay in August 2018. When the figure arrived, the bubble/blister had cracked by the figures left hand, and this damage was not present in the auction ...

Re: Carded Power Droid 21b Disaster

I don't really understand what has happened, can you post photos? I've never heard of a bubble cracking or coming away from the card simply by being in an acrylic case, I would expect some movement to be involved. Is it possible somebody (family?) knocked it over and put it back up without realising...

More AFA Preferential Grading

I've seen some inconsistent grading before, but this takes the biscuit. Can anybody explain to me how this got an 80? I would have thought 60 max in that condition. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the value or the seller  s-l1600.jpg s-l1600-1.jpg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292726598534

Re: AFA end loose u-grading

Definitely good news for the future, just a shame that so many thousands of MOCs, baggies and sealed shipping cases were sacrificed to get here.

Great gesture Christian, it's been a pleasure having you and your business on here. I won't enter as I already have more acrylic than I can currently display :(

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 51 LAUNCHED

Both of these have happened after our recording, you need to consider that these are recorded up to three weeks before release and a show is normally planned a fortnight before that, we certainly wouldn’t over look either topic and with regards to baggies franks 2-pack information will fit perfectl...

Re: Time for a charter, standard or professional organisation?

The idea was floated on Facebook last year, but it was hard to get people to agree on specifics and members etc. Personally I think it’s a good idea but only if ‘senior’ collectors are on the ‘board’, I won’t name names but people who write books etc.

Re: Solving problems in the hobby - how?

I suppose Dave just wants to give the guy a chance to make it right, face his accusers and answer questions. I do understand the thinking behind this, but it is flawed. Most people do not like confrontation. There is often a difference in size, confidence, physicality etc between people. Many peopl...

Re: Solving problems in the hobby - how?

That’s a fair question Stu. I haven’t banned him, but I wouldn’t allow him to sell here while questions are still being asked. I think that’s the issue here - nobody is asking for Jeff to be banned from attending, it’s the fact he is selling there (and according to some sources still selling suspect...

Re: Solving problems in the hobby - how?

It's a tough one, Farthest From is (or has been) one of the highlights of the year for me. I certainly appreciate Dave's efforts putting it on and would not want to encourage people not to attend. However I do know of people who have avoided the events since the allegations against Jeff surfaced and...

Thanks for the report Stu, sorry only just saw it. Have deleted all references to it.

Listening now, only about half way through but I’m surprised there was no mention of Laurence’s Palitoy multi pack research in the news section.

Solving problems in the hobby - how?

As I'm sure you all know the hobby has never been perfect and there have always been fakes, scammers etc. I've seen some alarming posts by people I respect over the last few weeks regarding recent scandals along the lines of "I wish all this would go away" or "these things are sucking...

Re: So are all collectors the same?

It depends on your definition of collector. To some people it is spending obscene amounts of money on readily available items. I don't really consider that collecting personally, it's no different from walking in to Burberry and buying an expensive handbag. To me collecting is learning, being patien...
