Re: Restoration advice

Depending on the type of plastic, turps might not melt it (I know it doesn't melt vinyl.) Nail vanish remover will not be any good.

Re: Buying and Merchandising, what happens when a line is going to go out of stock

Very interesting read Steve, and you make many valid points. As you specifically mention the Woolworths packs though, I have to agree with Iain and Spoons. These items do not have one or two red flags, but many. For example, the fact that these round offer stickers appear on many other items includi...

Unless it's a vinyl cape Jawa, double telescoping Luke/Vader/Ben, small head Han, or blue Snaggletooth, then no ;)

Re: Rarity perception

In 2018 with eBay, Facebook and forums nothing is really rare, only expensive. There are very few one of a kind items, even for prototypes. The biggest challenge is often getting collectors to part with items, which means they are not rare but simply hard to obtain (eg anything Boba Fett related.)

Re: MillionsofToys - eBay seller to avoid

Unfortunately I have also just had a very poor experience buying from this seller. I bought a carded Return of the Jedi figure from millionsoftoys on eBay in August 2018. When the figure arrived, the bubble/blister had cracked by the figures left hand, and this damage was not present in the auction ...

Re: Carded Power Droid 21b Disaster

I don't really understand what has happened, can you post photos? I've never heard of a bubble cracking or coming away from the card simply by being in an acrylic case, I would expect some movement to be involved. Is it possible somebody (family?) knocked it over and put it back up without realising...

More AFA Preferential Grading

I've seen some inconsistent grading before, but this takes the biscuit. Can anybody explain to me how this got an 80? I would have thought 60 max in that condition. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the value or the seller  s-l1600.jpg s-l1600-1.jpg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292726598534

Definitely good news for the future, just a shame that so many thousands of MOCs, baggies and sealed shipping cases were sacrificed to get here.

Great gesture Christian, it's been a pleasure having you and your business on here. I won't enter as I already have more acrylic than I can currently display :(

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 51 LAUNCHED

Both of these have happened after our recording, you need to consider that these are recorded up to three weeks before release and a show is normally planned a fortnight before that, we certainly wouldn’t over look either topic and with regards to baggies franks 2-pack information will fit perfectl...

Re: Time for a charter, standard or professional organisation?

The idea was floated on Facebook last year, but it was hard to get people to agree on specifics and members etc. Personally I think it’s a good idea but only if ‘senior’ collectors are on the ‘board’, I won’t name names but people who write books etc.

Re: Solving problems in the hobby - how?

I suppose Dave just wants to give the guy a chance to make it right, face his accusers and answer questions. I do understand the thinking behind this, but it is flawed. Most people do not like confrontation. There is often a difference in size, confidence, physicality etc between people. Many peopl...
