Re: Vintage v Modern Action Figures - Camp Lando

I would prefer they made the new toys in the vintage style, that would be cool :)

Re: Modern MOC 'investing'

The funny thing is I was there during the POTF2 era, but it still didn't appeal to me. I had a friend who collected them all, and it made no sense to me that he was collecting those over vintage. At the time (mid 90s) you could still buy the majority of MOCs for £15-30, I certainly paid no more than...

Very cool. Got a similar reaction when I found one of our M.A.S.K. helmets down the back of one of my mum's old sofas a few years ago

Re: Vintage SW is still affordable - £50 or less MOCs latest acquisitions

Picked up this little gem from the USA for sub £50 as described as a reseal as he’d not seen one similar. It’s fine, just a palitoy card 8) That's such a great pick up. As I just mentioned in another thread thanks to Toy Toni a lot of collectors are shit scared of anything Palitoy now so there are ...

Re: Response to Claims

Yes you're right, you only have to look at Toy Toni MOCs to see the lasting effects. 5 years after the 'scandal' you not only see them for sale on eBay undisclosed, but even worse on Facebook I regularly see people incorrectly labelling any Palitoy MOC as a Toy Toni and scaring off buyers.

Re: Modern MOC 'investing'

But nah in all honesty I think nearly all of them just look dreadful. That is also a barrier for a lot of people, they just look awful. I believe they based the sculpts on wrestling figures? Which was a classic marketing mistake, being about 5 years behind the times as wrestling was popular in the ...

Re: Modern MOC 'investing'

Nope, I knew they would never be worth anything because nobody was buying them to play with. Vintage toys were bought by kids, opened and played with. POTF2 was bought by adults and stored away. Pretty obvious why one is now scare and valuable and the other is not.

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Two new additions to my Palitoy with trilogo bubble run. Really happy with the Fett, never thought I would own a ‘real’ one of these as most out there are Toy Toni’s. Big thanks to Iain for sending them both over from America to me.

Fairly common but a very nice example, about £150-200 I would say. You really need an 85+ grade to add significant value above ungraded.

Re: Trilogo cardbacks Luke Hoth, Leia Bespin, AT AT Driver etc.

My general rule for cardbacks is a tenth of the MOC value, so I think all of them apart from Luke Hoth are sub £20, some of the more common ones like Lando under £10. I would say £40 or so for Luke Hoth, he's a £4-500 MOC so that doesn't command a huge cardback price like say a Madine would.

Unfortunately rarity has nothing to do with the grade, a beater Prune Face will get exactly the same grade as a beater Vlix. The way it should be IMO.

Ok the bubble was pretty yellowed but still

Yes I have noticed he has gone up recently, as you say he was a sub £50 MOC until a few years ago. But then most other Luke MOCs have gone up too.

Re: Fun poll time!

Good job. Looking through the new sellers feedback they have bought Star Wars stuff over quite a long period, so more likely to be another of his accounts or a collector friend.
