Re: End of 2017 Onto 2018

I didn't set any goals for 2017 and didn't really add much to the collection, the prices and Facebook nearly drove me off completely. I don't feel the need to set goals as they often mean you make poor judgements merely to complete a goal. I just hope that some of the fun comes back to the hobby.

Re: Some things i learnt from trying to sell on gumtree

Its not just Gumtree that it happens on, I tried selling on Facebook and got lowballed to an almost comical level, a load of chancers offering 30% of the asking price. I lost patience put the lot on Ebay and even with an uplifted price to cover fees sold it for the asking price in 24 hours. Seems so...

It's the top twin cannons from a Cobra Wolf from Action Force/GI Joe.

Re: Ever Regret Showing Your Collection on SWFUK?

Some food for thought is that there has been another collection theft, this time GI Joe/Action Force. As far as I am aware he's never really limelighted anything either, so I think its just who knows you have stuff regardless of whether or not you publicize it.

Re: Tri Logo's

A few factors that have IMO contributed to their rise in recent years: 1) Kenner are by far the most plentiful MOCs with few exceptions. Trilogos aren't exactly rare, but there are dozens of 12 backs on eBay all the time, you can't say the same for main character trilogos 2) Trilogos appeal to all ...

£250-300 eh Edd :!:  Nah just kidding. Don't worry I was expecting to get picked up on that  I still stand by £250-300 being a sensible price for one of these, I'm sure a slightly rougher one could be had for that. I would say this one is above average so worth a slight premium. And price...

Re: Where are all the EBAY £1 starting bid auction ?

Well its because ebay now tell you a trending price to start your auction at even though the algorithm they use is woeful and can't correctly identify the exact details of listing. So people just follow this, combine with the fact that its free to start at these prices means no one starts low any mo...

Re: Photobucket Ransom.

Any virus alert through your browser is a scam, it's basically a really dodgy way of making you install software you don't need. Unfortunately the internet is very spammy these days, I highly recommend using a plugin like AdBlock: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjoc...

Re: Are prices going up?

Prices are just all over the place. I think either Ebay or apps are introducing price trending tools that seem to over value everything which means many (either through ignorance or greed) stick to this price and the stuff sits there for months until either they run out of patience or someone foolis...

Re: What annoys you the most in this hobby?

Snobbery and price bragging are my current pet hates. This is a hobby, something for many people that escapes them from everyday troubles and is ultimately something you do for fun. When bragging about how much you've spent or have to spend or looking down on someone because they choose to collect s...

Re: Improving dented bubbles

The results look great in the pictures, but as Simon notes above its probably not as easy as it looks. I have two MoC that have clearly been 'treated' to this type of restoration, one is very curved around the top, the other is a bit shrunk at the base. Both are Tri-logo bubbles, so super thin, but...

Thanks for the information and link. Just remembered that one of them was into Action Man, seems that's their main business now. Very little vintage on the website, shop looks good though. The owner Alan Hall was/is the developer of the 40th Anniversary line of Action Man, so thats their main focus...

The Ewok Battle Wagon, terrible terrible concept, toy and hideously ugly to look at. Proud not to have it.
