Re: So what did you think about Solo: A Star Wars Story ??? SPOILERS

I think the fan drama is way, way overdone. It’s embarrassing. The whole ‘TLJ killed my childhood stuff’ makes me feel like a grumpy old man. If you look at who is making these comments, they aren’t from normal human beings, they’re mainly from snowflake millennials, most of whose parents hadn’t eve...

Re: So what did you think about Solo: A Star Wars Story ??? SPOILERS

Just seen it, went IMAX and I think worth the extra cost, the visuals are really great. The good - the core Han/Chewie/Lando interaction is well done, the score is a proper JW tribute, Glover is really great as Lando, it moves along at a decent pace, Paul Bettany is a credible villain (if a little b...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story Solo SPOILERS First Reactions

If you listen to the trailer without actually watching it his voice does actually sounds like he’s got the right Han Solo tone to it. Plenty of people were quick to criticise the acting coach being appointed, but if they get the attitude and tone right then that’s far more important than what the gu...

Re: Toys R Us - Goodbye

An alternative view perhaps, but good riddance to them. They destroyed virtually every small toy shop in the country in the 80s and 90s by pricing everyone else out of business and then spent the last 10 years over-pricing everything else they sold - I mean, who’s buying dvds for £20 these days? The...

Re: Help / Advice needed from the pros!

Good advice from everyone. It’s a different way of thinking but I’m guessing he’d have years of fun with some loose figures and vehicles than he ever would from a carded figure and let’s be honest, you can still buy him a carded figure or DT figure in the next 20 years or so when he’s got much more ...

Re: Store Display Items

I think £200 is prob still the top end price for a really nice shelf talker with unapplied sticker on the back. Lower depending on quality etc. Even though prices have gone up, spending over £100+ on what’s still a pretty niche item isn’t going to sit well with a lot of collectors so I don’t think p...

Re: Did potf mocs make it to uk shelves ?

If they came from Palitoy they’d have been in the last Palitoy catalogues and on the order forms but they aren’t. We’d also see them in the big retail catalogues and they aren’t. So mainstream retailers never had them but like Edd says, there’s no reason that a toy wholesaler couldn’t have picked up...

Star Wars live action show ...

http://www.starwars.com/news/jon-favreau-to-executive-produce-write-live-action-star-wars-series I’m growing to dislike KK being in charge more and more especially when I see quotes like this: “I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer ...

Re: Have prices peaked? Where are they going?

Will we see a drop in all types of Star Wars sales everywhere? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43300087 BBC report above reflects a drop in profits for Lego. Why is this related to SW I hear you say? Well a "global toy analyst (a Ms Tutt)" claims that: "...in 2017 there "was ...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer... TONIGHT!!!!

Not getting the hate at all. Think it looks great. Who hates Star Wars more than anyone else? Star Wars fans :( No hate from me, more like indifference really. I watched it, and when it ended I felt nothing really, no excitement, no real interest even though it is Star Wars. I felt the same way abo...

Re: Solo and Character saturation

What they’ve missed so far is that it could/should be about both (money & originality/imagination). When Solo was announced it was met with a huge amount of scepticism, a film no one really wanted. I don’t think that’s changed. Then they talk about an Obi-Wan movie, a Yoda origin, a Fett origin,...

Re: 3 more movies announced from GoT Writers

There are people out there who haven’t watched GoT?! Kind of shocked by that ... D+B have done a great job with GoT but their best work was when they were using GRRMs book content, and since the lazy git stopped writing the books the show quality has suffered a fair bit. That doesn’t mean they can’t...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer... TONIGHT!!!!

Looks like a very safe “get the gang together with some meaningless plot device (probably involving Jabba)” film, which after the collective meltdown of so many people after TLJ seems very understandable from a Disney perspective. It might be nice for them to avoid the almost mandatory chase scene t...

Re: Han Solo movie: what do you think?

More Star Wars please and lots of it, always wanted more SW since the mid 90's and now it's actually happening, keep it coming! If there's anything released that I don't like then so what i'll just wait for the next one that I do like, even if I don't really like almost of an entire film but there'...

Re: Han Solo movie: what do you think?

I’ve kept thinking ‘any day now we’ll hear that Solo release date has been pushed back to December’. All the other Disney SW films have had December releases and after Lord and Miller got replaced I thought this has to get bumped... ...but looks like we are still on for May. Just 4 months away! And...
