Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 54 LAUNCHED

Great show! I was also surprised to hear the full length Mastermind theme, I thought it had a bit of a sci-fi vibe to it actually so quite appropriate. I also agree with the comments that Stu really 'went out to bat' for the Imperial Dignitary - I'd like to say that he swayed opinion and made us all...

Re: Newbie (re)collector question & 1st purchase

Nice start Paul, £1.20 for any complete figure is brilliant - but don't expect that to be the norm it's all uphill from here!

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Nice acquisition on the red armour 4-LOM. When I was hunting variants I remember that as a particularly tricky one to find!

Now you've got everyone wondering what the first most over hyped figure is!

Re: Uzay figures

I'd prefer just a quick bit of advice. Is the £5k he's offering a good or realistic price? I am wary that hes prepared to travel 300 odd miles with, as he says, £5000 cash to give me. Star Wars figures don't have a 'fixed' price - the price is very much influenced by condition and completeness. The...

Re: Palitoy Prototypes!

So apart from being a prototype I take it that's the only Luke Jedi figure in existence with that straight arm positioning? No... there is another (in the words of Yoda). Ron Salvatore, a great guy who was really nice and helpful to me during this find, drew my attention to this made by a K...

Re: Palitoy Prototypes!

even Ree Yees looks cool. Yes! Ree Yees has proverbially gone from 'zero to hero' in my estimation after seeing this hardcopy. The fine detail of the sculpt and all the crackling on the back of his hands is pretty damn awesome, I guess some of that detail was lost in translation when poured in plas...

Re: Palitoy Prototypes!

Hello boys, and thanks for sharing the link and details. I would have put them on here yesterday but it was a busy one! Like pretty much all of the regulars here I have a good expertise and first hand knowledge of vintage collecting, but prototypes are a bit more niche and I only really know about t...

Re: Woolworths Special Buy 99p 8 packs

2001, the find was in a bungalow in Arboufield nr Reading which was a probate. The loft was to be cleared for woodworm treatment. Everything in it belonged to an old lady who had died. Jeff mentioned to the new owner about various items up there and was given everything or it was to be dumped. Jeff...

Re: Woolworths Special Buy 99p 8 packs

Aside from the receipt which doesn't really prove anything either way as the bags aren't sealed are they? It just means the later issue receipt can't have been in there (in 2001) when the baggies were allegedly found. Don't get why a receipt would be in one of them anyway? Makes no sense. The Woolw...

Re: Kenner boxes in the uk

Alisdair, welcome to the forum and great first post. The Radar Laser Cannon is a good example of Kenner boxed toys being sold in UK shops, the Tripod Laser Cannon too. I have memories of owning both as a child during that ESB era, and also of having the small book shaped catalog that came with it. N...

Re: Woolworths Special Buy 99p 8 packs

Fair point Ben. It’d be good to see the other side of the receipt. Also, the print on the carrier bag may help date this Rich, the Worthpoint description that Laurence posted: "even has a plain Woolworth receipt stub inside!". This blank stub would be consistent with the faked allegation,...

Re: Destruction of ships/vehicles is getting too much.

A 100% complete toy is the 'final state' that all collectors are aiming for. I spent a good amount of my collecting time buying up 'job lots'. Childhood collections, filled with many items that some might call junk. You know the sort; random pieces of a speeder bike, maybe the leg of a CAP-2, odds a...
