Re: The beginning of the end?

There has just been an article on this very subject on the swca blog, well worth a read: http://blog.theswca.com/2017/10/ I don't think we are even remotely close to the hobby declining. Just you wait till the 'I grew up Star Wars' generation reaches 65 retirement age and then you'll see some seriou...

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 40 LAUNCHED

Thanks for the new episode, another lovely rambling present for us vintage boys to listen to! It was unusual listening to you have a slightly morose discussion about falling out of love with the hobby (and Stu's confession that he's been cheating on Star Wars with a Game Of Thrones collection - ask ...

Re: Daz B from Gosport - full first 20 Palitoy run

No, I don't think he participated much on the forum, but he did buy and sell some of his Palitoy 20 backs with some names I recognised. Cant be too many have done the full 20 run!

Re: Latest Acquisitions

laurencedyer - Sweet deal on the Star Wars programme, is it the first or second edition? From memory there were 2, i could be talking out of my backside but i think one was a bit more glossy than the other. I now need to go and check lol. Jez, your correct on the two editions of the Cinema Brochure...

Daz B from Gosport - full first 20 Palitoy run

I had the opening of May The Toys Be With You exhibition at Gosport Discovery Centre on Saturday and I met a local collector called Darren (he has been on this forum as Daz B). He had a run of the first 20 on Palitoy cards, and at the time he thought he was only one of 3 to have done that (along wit...

Re: A New Repro... THE COLLECTORS STRIKE BACK

I suspect many of those 68 views from the past 24 hours have been as a result of this thread and the one on echo base. subzero, regarding EBay's policy on repro, I'm not sure that blog article represents it as it was written 8 years ago by a collector and is just his opinion. EBay's official policy ...

Re: A New Repro... THE COLLECTORS STRIKE BACK

Haha, nice one!

I posted this on Echo Base too, and we have 4 reports here, 10 there, so we are up to 14.

This is really a stress test to find out how many cases of Report Item need to be made before the listing is shut down (either by ebay algorithm or a worker).

Keep them coming guys...

A New Repro... THE COLLECTORS STRIKE BACK

I think the collecting community has done brilliantly to mostly remove / ban the sale of repro from forums and facebook groups and respect to all those who have adopted the 'no repro' stance. However the problem of ebay remains, and on that front the repro mostly definitely appears to be winning. Th...

Re: J.J. ABRAMS TO WRITE AND DIRECT STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

I think Ron Howard was an upgrade over Lord + Miller, and I think JJ Abrams is an upgrade over Colin Trevorrow.

Maybe it's being English, and used to seeing football managers sacked and replaced on a weekly basis but this doesn't trouble me in the least.
