Re: Looking for info on Palitoy Cardback Production

In the lot of 13000 unused cardbacks that Toni acquired after the Palitoy factory was cleared, 45B's are the earliest card listed. To me this indicates earlier cards were assembled in HK as none of the loose cards have surfaced. All of the Palitoy 41 back cards have a K or S factory code on them to...

Isnt it strange how plastic and adhesive determines this hobby

Ive just been thinking about how much some adhesive and a bit of plastic changes the ball game in this hobby. My point in question is that you can buy a resealed Palitoy 12 back for 100 or so, but for the same one sealed its maybe 10 times or so more. When you actually think about it, it makes you r...

Wow!

That's my old 4-LOM 47 back card there :) I bought it straight from John Kellerman in 2004 and it is a gorgeous piece.

Re: Looking for info on Palitoy Cardback Production

Nice buys Oli. I myself believe that only the first production run was assembled in HK, and that latter lines ,including some 12 backs ,20 back and 41/45 back logo'd cards were assembled in the UK. Part of me thinks that they all were, but that's up for discussion. It doesn't make any sense to ship ...

Re: AFA end loose u-grading

AFA,UKG,CAS-they are all the same. You cant like one and dislike the other. They are all responsible in some way, shape or form. It was a sad day when AFA started it off though, people wanted their toys graded - really??? I grade stuff myself and buy the acrylic. Personally i find the fact tha...

Cardback restoration

So ive been spending time doing cardback rebuilds, Palitoy only. I didn't want to have to shell out the big bucks for the display but wanted to get the same look and nostalgia again. The price tag adds to it too and they don't look bad on display. The card, bubble and footer are all original but I ha...

So are all collectors the same?

Ive been thinking about this for a bit, and it really does make a good point of discussion. In my past I have come across certain collectors who look down upon others for collecting on a budget. I remember someone saying to me a good few years back that someone he knew had stated that he wasn't a 'p...
