Re: Midland Boys Winter 2018 beer and curry night

Mark is right about the breast story. It actually happened! And the breasts were not a man's!

Come along. Drink beer. Eat curry. Talk Star Wars. All with a good bunch of lads

Re: What do you regret the most from your time in the hobby?

Selling stuff. Not having the foresight to buy more back in the 90s. Not joining Swfuk earlier. But it's been mainly positive. No real regrets

Re: When were your golden years?

Probably 1983. Jedi toys were crazy. My parents must have been spoiling me for some reason. The only Jedi release ship I remember not having was the B wing. Star Wars toys everywhere :D

Yep. Pretty much everything. But I have stuff that's really hidden away. Modern things like a set of moc Goonies figures.

I'm sure somebody on here said they had put a cape in the wash and it shrank. Possibly a false memory

Re: What toy did you convert to?

Pop up R2. Can't say I hate it but I did think the figure was over hyped considering the value. But one came along at a cracking price and meant I could complete my loose run. Even a few years ago it was something I felt priced out of and didn't really care about enough to spend the going rate.

Re: First ever toys as a collector?

Probably a bag of loose figures and ships that my step dad picked up from a carboot sale. It was a Christmas present, probably 1990. He knew I was interested in the stuff so got me this. Nothing amazing in there but it was a cracking start

Re: Ever Regret Showing Your Collection on SWFUK?

No. Not really. But I wouldn't post the same photos on Facebook. More people that know where I live on there, and that's a worry. All it takes is a friend of a friend to tell someone else. I know people who know complete bellends. The sort I wouldn't trust in my house. Star Wars has such a huge valu...

Re: What's the most confusing toy?

The AtAt perhaps, what with a total lack of ground access to any point inside it. I think this is something a child would have been aware of. Quite a few ships had mystifying access problems but none so much as the high up walker. They missed a trick with the imperial Endor base, the only on screen ...

I bet those workers look at Star Wars toys in a different way. Probably some sort of post traumatic stress disorder kicks in.

Those are the sort of jobs that just look like slavery. There's one woman on there who really looks like she's dead inside.

Another one for Rebel Troop Transporter. Played with that more than anything else as a kid. Loved the compartments and the hatch.

Never had the Star Destroyer but its a set I would love to have now.
