Re: RotJ yellow bubbles

Just listened to that podcast, didn't have a clue what he was talking about! Far too scientific. And there is no conclusive evidence what makes them yellow and brittle. It's pretty obvious that plastic degrades over time and once it's extremely yellowed is likely to start breaking apart. Unfortunat...

Re: Any new stories to do with dealing with the other half?

I was upfront from day one with Julie - I have been collecting for 28 years, I have travel over the world with this stuff, 50% of my friends are from the hobby - my collection is going nowhere. And she is mega cool with that! She still glazes over when I explain the minutiae of variances in logo siz...

Re: ESB Leia Bespin - Toy Toni identification

This kind of highlights the problem with TT - there are few universal tells and its become a minefield. I have got the the point that I am wary of ANY mint palitoy 45b, 45c or 65 back and german/Clipper cards.

Re: What's happening at Jeff Glanville stand at FF?

I think aggression and confrontation will be extremely counter-productive. At the moment he hasnt gone to ground and that is a good thing for people owed money. Lets have a good, friendly and open FF. If you want to take Jeff to task there is a time, place and a way of doing it. Now someone who is o...

Re: Faded/Discoloured grey plastic on stored Star Wars Vehicles

I was the guest on the Podcast on this subject. It's oxidation causing cross-linking of the Carbon bonds which weakens the structure and makes it change colour. UV and sunlight isn't only cause - a major cause is elevated temperature. A rule of thumb is every 10 degree Celsius rise in temperature do...

Re: last ever donnington toy fair today

It was Donnington that Monica Deagan had the Clipper LSAF cases of Lukes and Leias - I picked up a sealed, case fresh Luke for £80 back in 1992. In fact I strongly suspect that all the sealed or NRFB Clippers out there come from this find.

Re: Long term solution for tape sealed boxes/baggies etc?

I really think let time take its course - the contents are sealed and the box hinge uncreased. I think adding new tape is like gluing down a lift on a carded figure. You still have a great looking piece that is shop stock without retaping.

Re: Long Time suspected FAKE baggies scam / seller

The difference is the TT scandal came out by accident - when Jason mentioned it and despite multiple invitations Toni never came forward to put his view. This was done completely sub rosa, with no taking Jeff to one side and being presented the findings in private first. It was sprung on the communi...

Re: Long Time suspected FAKE baggies scam / seller

there is no evidence whatsoever that he is the source of the fakes as has been stated previously. Apart from the fact that the overwhelming majority have been traced directly back to him. Circumstantial evidence at best - real evidence needs to be shown or the accusation retracted because if the ac...
