Re: How does collecting compare to a year ago?

The variant thing is certainly on the wane IMO. Not sure why that is but prices have reached a plateau and in some cases dropped. I'm finding the Palitoy Collectors page really busy ATM, with loads of new members join in recent weeks - think we're at 1300 now. And as Poncho says, the Beyond The Toys...

Re: Palitoy Three Position Laser Rifle

Hi, (thanks Carl), I reckon you're not far off, in that condition £450-500 is about right. Dave Tree has had one for sale for a while and not sold (as far as I know) as of yet and that's at £500 in similar condition.

Re: I didnt know this...

I'm not so sure this was designed this way - more a question of it being discovered you can do it rather than it being done for that purpose.

Surely Kenner would have advertised this feature in some way? Cool nontheless.

Re: Becoming desensitised to money due to collecting?

To a degree yes. It also makes me feel uncomfortable sometimes if I'm totally honest. I look at a piece in my collection and think 'that's £1000 worth of plastic just sitting there' - and then I think of all the toys/clothes/holidays that could buy for my kids - who I have to say never, ever go with...

Re: Echo Live VI announced

Sorry to say that I can’t get to Echo, but just wanted to say that your art work is amazing. I can’t choose a favourite, but the Force Awakens one and the Liea on the Winter Games ones are really special. Where or what were these used for? Good luck with the sales of your proofs, but I doubt your n...

Re: Echo Live VI announced

I'm going to be selling a limited number of artist proofs I have left plus a handful of the stickers I designed for the FX crew on SOLO. I'll also have a small selection of my art on display.

Re: Waterstones diaries

Modern speeder bike and Biker Scout  That sends my OCD into overdrive :D We're now a 'target market' - as said, adverts using toys from our childhood and product using retro imagery is proof it's all cool now to like this stuff. In the early 90's you could get your head kicked in up here if yo...

Re: Destruction of ships/vehicles is getting too much.

A 100% complete toy is the 'final state' that all collectors are aiming for. I spent a good amount of my collecting time buying up 'job lots'. Childhood collections, filled with many items that some might call junk. You know the sort; random pieces of a speeder bike, maybe the leg of a CAP-2, odds ...

Re: Farthest From -December 2018

You should still go Edd, it's out of your hands who's there and it would be a shame for you to miss the show - and see all your friends.

On another note, who's taking table bookings as DT is away it seems.
