Re: Mattel Star Wars figures...?

Mego also passed on the license. Would have been cool to see a range of clothed figures and larger vehicles for them, a landspeeder would have been awesome. Mattel would have fucked it up, like they did with the Galactica range, the only thing they did get right was the cardback artwork for Clash Of...

Re: 20TH CENTURY FOX STAR WARS TRILOGY THEATRICAL STANDEE KIT #6969 1997

Very tough piece to value and sell as it's such a huge item, in terms of displaying it you'd need serious space. That puts it in a very tough spot to sell and it probably won't be as much as you think. My advice would be to auction it with a 99p start and see where it gets to. I'd hazard a guess at ...

This should be number 1 of the 'ten commandments of collecting'.

Fuck knows what the other 9 are though.

Maybe 'Thou shalt not buy repro' should be on there for seconds.

So cool to see stuff like this happen this late in the game, makes you wonder if there's any more undiscovered.

Re: Next Vectis Sale 10th July 2018

It does seem as though the quality and variety has not been as good these past few sales, still, a couple of bits there that need a new home ;)

Re: Gentle giant retro - what’s the vintage collector view?

I used to collect them years ago, in fact my very first sales thread on SWFUK nearly 6 years ago was for these figures. I'd had enough of them and was shifting all my modern stuff to concentrate on vintage. They are a very cool product and some of them are amazing - the Power Droid was my favourite....

Re: Cardback lifting?

It's called 'de-lamination' and as previously stated, when the adhesive between the 2 ppieces of card begins to decay for whatever reason. This can be down to moisture and then the card drying over time. I've seen countless examples of this on MOC's and other packaging. It can be fixed if it comes c...

Re: Empire " May the sound be with you" poster

Yes, don't come up often. There's also 3 different versions, a Woolworths one, a Dairy promotional one and this one.

Condition on this would put it at about £100 I'd say. But you never know at auction.

I've got stacks of stickers Paul. Send me a PM mate and I'll dig out what I have.
I bought a display box full last year but only wanted the box.

Re: Information needed on UK Topps Bubblegum cards

Jon, that is a fantastic post mate! I thought i was well up on the Topps side but I've learned a thing or two there. Really enjoyed reading, thanks. yes, 4 masks, you're right Ian. Chewie, Threepio and Vader are most common, the Stormtrooper is the hardest, but to be honest, they're all pretty hard...

I just want to highlight how greed triumph given word. If doing the right thing is so important to you, how about you sell me the trilogo Jawa/Warok miscard you backdoored me on a couple of years ago (which is the reason you were banned from the Echo Base Facebook group.) I agree it sucks when thes...

Re: Palitoy VCJ ebay

Why not just buy a loose VCJ for the going rate of £1000-1200, and then find a re-seal Palitoy Jawa for about £200-300 and save yourself £1200? Admitedly a Palitoy Jawa re-seal is getting tought to find but I bought one from Vectis not long ago for less than £100 - with fees! It's worth the hunt if ...

Re: Palitoy vs kenner

Very few figures are recognised as being exclusive to Palitoy, they used the same as Kenner.

Which figure are you trying to identify?

The only figures I can think of off the bat that are Palitoy are the R2 from the Palitoy Droid Factory, Luke Bespin (orange hair) and Greedo with large pupils.

Re: Replica Vehicle Boxes

Shop around, you'll get the real deal for not much more and in some case even less than he's charging. With repro you're throwing cash away, at least with original stuff you'll keep hold of your investment and might even profit from it - there's no way that will ever happen with repro. Once you've s...
