Re: Does anyone recognise these Star Wars items?

Thanks. I'm aware of the Star Wars Unleashed Battle Packs but I couldn't find those particular characters on a Google search. I find the Unleashed figures to be a little out-of-place as they're generally speaking very expensive and not scale to anything. Star Wars Command are cheaper and are roughly...

Does anyone recognise these Star Wars items?

These solid Star Wars figures were on eBay but the seller didn't answer my question regarding their origin.

Can anyone tell me what toy line they came from and maybe also how tall they are? I'm not a great expert on modern toys.

Thanks.

Really good to hear that you enjoyed the book up until the point your parents took it off of your hands. You are pictured within, so I can understand why they'd be so interested. A bit rough though if you're part way through the story!

Is anyone collecting Star Wars Command toys?

I picked up a few sets when they were first released but held off from the entire range as it was a bit pricey. Recently I’ve been taking advantage of some bargains on eBay. Some of the prices are surprisingly high though such as the Millennium Falcon set and especially Jabba the Hutt. One disadvant...

Re: Exclusive discount price for “The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain” for SWFUK

Thanks for all of the positive comments everyone. The book is now available in the UK and the USA. The discounted price via Eurospan is still the cheapest price that I'm aware of. The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, including some great reviews. It feels like a great payback for all of th...

Re: Icarus placemats

I simply love the Icarus place mats. I was twelve when they were first released in 1982 and they were objects of considerable desire. The only one I managed to afford was the Chewie, Han and Lando. I was a bit dissatisfied with the armaments of the characters, with Han and Lando having puny-looking ...

Re: Exclusive discount price for “The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain” for SWFUK

Looking forward to reading this. Didnt realise you were in Whitby. Are you from there originally? Thats where im from. I grew up in Collier Row, Greater London (you could say Essex) then moved to Croydon and then to Whitby a couple of years ago. We'll have to meet up for a couple of jars. Thanks to...

Re: "The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain" book latest.

Many thanks for people's continued interest in my book. It's actually been printed now and is being sent to retailers. The cheapest way to get the book may be to go via Eurospan, the European distributors who are expecting supplies in around two weeks. They're kindly offering a 20% discount to SWFUK...

Exclusive discount price for “The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain” for SWFUK

I was overjoyed to receive a box from the USA this afternoon containing the first copy of The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain to arrive in Great Britain. Eurospan, the European distributor is very kindly offering members of SWFUK and The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain book Facebook group, a 20% dis...

Re: "The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain" book latest.

The book is definitely still happening. I've been working with the editor of the book to fine tune it to perfection. The publisher has everything it needs to bring it to print, so I'm sure that they'll get on with it ASAP. There are cheaper deals around so anyone who ordered via Amazon might be able...

Re: Old Comic Star Wars Adverts

Brilliant memories. I found this advert in a Batman comic in the U.K as a child and it was the source of many toy fantasies. I didn't realise at that time that the Palitoy play sets were different to the Kenner ones, so if I'd received one from my parents, I'd have been pretty disappointed.

"The Star Wars Phenomenon in Britain" book latest.

The latest news is that the book will be available in February from online sellers. I’ve got no word at this stage regarding it being available in the shops yet. I can confirm that the book is a large format paperback (17.8 x 25.4 cm) 239 pages. 120 photos. Appendices. Starburst has given it a 9/10 ...

It happened today in Star Wars history

This day in Star Wars history. Although Great Britain did not receive Star Wars on May 25th 1977 along with the USA, the public were introduced to the film from day one. The British publicity campaign was such an onslaught that by the time October arrived, the entire country had gone Star Wars crazy...

Star Wars on tour 1978

I recognised an image posted by Ace on the SWFUK FB as being from a trio of shots taken at Metheringham, Lincolnshire in 1978 when the village received a visit from Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. It was presumably to promote the showing of Star Wars at the nearby Kinema in the Woods cinema Woodhall...
