Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 41 LAUNCHED

Great episode as ever - thankyou!

Oh and if you're trying to give me a jump scare by having the opening screech of 'Yellow Pearl' just a bit too loud then it is working!

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Those stickers fall into that aforementioned 'Paploo and Klaatu getting over-represented' category.

Re: Where Will You Watch Episode VIII?

I've booked the ONLY wheelchair seat in my local multiplex that's not right at the front in the sore neck spaces for the first showing of opening day. The first one that isn't the midnight showing, that is.

Cineworld, Silverburn, Glasgow.

Re: To break or not to break?

Beautiful figure deemed mediocre by the grading world.

I'd break it if I knew what I was doing ( which I don't ).

Re: Near Perfect Repros

It's a remarkable coincidence that he's found himself with a large amount of an unknown variant of Leia blasters and Jawa blasters and Luke sabres and God knows what else. He's been terribly unlucky. Seriously though, similar to what's been said above, as someone who briefly owned two of these they ...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Haven’t posted in this thread for a while  . Got this poster yesterday, it’s a bit rough to say the least but it’s one I’ve never had before. I love that sort of thing. Congratulations. I'm always meaning to start a thread about toy shop based euohemera that isn't even SW branded . I'm scared...

Re: Klaatu over-representation

Klaatu in his PJs .......but what about other shots? :D There's that shot that appears on the Luke Jedi card. In it's wider form, Klaatu is pulling some sinister shapes behind him. None of which explains why this exists.... https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/g/PzUAAOSw2n5ZiNlK/s-l225.jpg ..in an E...

I just looked it up. So he does, and so does Prune Face.

Yeah Williams Jnr played Klaatu in his skiff version in Yuma. There's a different guy playing him in the palace scenes in London as seen in the old 'Making Of' specials.

Re: What are Your Favourite & Least Favourite Vintage Weapons / Accessories?

I hear a few guys saying they welcomed the Luke Bespin sabre but I loved the original ( ok, single-telescoping ) sabres. Great playability - you could even make the noise along with extending it. C'mon? :D One of my earliest SW memories is thinking the Vader sabre was the bee's knees. An obvious cho...

Klaatu over-representation

The mention, on the VR podcast, of Paploo appearing alongside mainstream characters on some German merchandise got me thinking about over-representation of Klaatu. Now, I have a theory about the Paploo thing. Kenny Baker's Ewok ( now Paploo ) was supposed to be our leading Ewok character until Warwi...

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 40 LAUNCHED

Five hours flies by! Great stuff asalways.

About Paploo! He was over-represented in a couple of places and I wonder if that's a hangover from when Kenny Baker's Ewok ( now Paploo ) was supposed to be the leading Ewok before he became ill and Warwick Davis's Ewok stood in during filming.

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 40 LAUNCHED

Thankyou as always, guys. I'm not far into it but am compelled to let you know that I'm just out of hospital after a month and am using your podcast as a soundtrack to fannying about around the house very slowly. I was fed up when I got up and am now thoroughly enjoying Family Fortunes which is a gr...

Re: It happened today in Star Wars history

From my own vault of YouTube tat, here's evidence that the Germans were off their rockers AND still doing robot dances to Meco well into the ESB era, if this is anything to go by! Really, it's off its tits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCcgBLizbzc&feature=youtu.be& I'd recommend watching ...

Re: It happened today in Star Wars history

You know your TOTP dance troupes, sir. :D

I'll bet it involved very un-Starwarsy robot dance moves like I've seen on other country's variety turns based on Meco. That would have been the last time they'd have gotten away with it, to a large extent, what with none of us having seen the film yet.
