Re: Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

I never kept anything including cardbacks due to my like of cutting things out with scissors: characters, logos. And not for any real purpose. If there was a scrapbook or colage I could now have seen the masterplan.

Re: 3 more movies announced from GoT Writers

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that at least one of these projects won't get to production or will have director(s) changed to 'a safe pair of hands'.

Re: You try and help some people.......

Would this man perhaps only use social media as a guide to prices, believe that everything is sold at the absolute top end of its value and have a suspicion that everything sold anywhere else for less is a fake because he can't tell the difference anyway? Utter guesswork on my part. Awesome price, b...

Re: Toy toni crystal ball!!

Yes. I know hindsite is a wonderful thing but, in retrospect, he was hiding in plain sight. I think I've got one Toni, and people more learned than I disagree. But I was certainly conned by the recent ( and i know lesser ) floating repro weapons fraud and, again looking back, I thought 'these are di...

Re: Stickers on Mocs

They add value to me too. The fact that they subtract value for the world at large makes them a win/ win as far as I'm concerned. I'm more ambivalent toward overseas price labels but show me a UK label and I'm gushing. I don't have any strong feelings of nationality but show me a British distributed...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 6, 2018, Part 2/2

I've actually got my eye on a 12" threepio. I'm working my way through the 12" line of large man's sized figures for hardnuts. Actually just the non-human characters. Those people ones with their actual clothes do look a bit like dolls! To tell the truth I've never loved the C3P0 one. He l...

Re: Is Star Wars only for the rich ?

In addition to that, I have wondered if some future humans might give a shit about our stuff inside a more general hobby of collecting 20th century film memorabilia like classic film cinema posters so on. I do think of Star Wars as a kind of king-pin of collecting, a little bit like stamps and coins...

Re: Is Star Wars only for the rich ?

I thought most of the posts here were along the lines of 'just be thankful for what you've got'. Eventually, ultimately... as a summation after some middle aged griping of course.

Re: Stickers on Mocs

The only stickers I don"t enjoy are POTF Coin Offer labels. I own one - an ESB Lobot. I bought that one as I enjoy the fact that it presumably sat unwanted from 1981 until it got POTF-stickered in 1985.

Re: Fett - name cut out

Jesus I was such a good little boy. That's some brass neck required in going into John Menzies, balls out, with scissors cutting out nameplates. I'd have never hung about with those boys.Looking back, I wish I did though.

Re: Toy toni crystal ball!!

Is the make-them-at-home-guy a man with serious suspicions and no proof so fancied a joke, I wonder. It's a peculiar thing to say. I can't imagine thanking someone for a lovely MOC and joking they it's so good it's like you made it yourself. Then following it with a great many exclamation marks. I ...

Re: Is Star Wars only for the rich ?

I thought I was at a loose end for checking every auction that mentioned simply Star Wars to find the vaguely described ones at the height of my enthusiasm and aforementioned boredom. Then I heard of a man who waded through every toy listing to find the ones that never even mentioned Star Wars. I dr...

Re: Is Star Wars only for the rich ?

Yes, job lots were a large part of why I have a collection. I'm sure we've both watched job lots with weapons in them, for example, hoping to save a few quid at the expense of an afternoon's work relisting the unwanted ones. For nowt. I did feel great quite recently when I effectively got a complete...

Re: Toy Run Podcast

And of anyone can provide a direct link for an mp3 that doesn't involve third party software id appreciate it. I'm living in hospital for a while and won't be near my pc. Werth hospital WiFi being what it is, i like to dl files with a trainee rather than steam. Bloody podbean. It lets me dl anything...
