Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 49 LAUNCHED

Thanks guys for another great listen. I'm partial to a bit of the 12 inch range. Thankfully I'm happy with them loose because the boxing is terribly complicated. Interesting stuff. And Paploo's over-representation: Kenny Baker's Ewok ( as we call Paploo ) was, as we all know, intended to be Wicket u...

Re: Found it, made me laugh, stole it. :)

Oh the whole too-short thing puzzled me too, as a child.

Despite that, I was about 27 when I realised it doesn't make sense for them to have their own clothes and boots back after the trash compactor.

Re: i believe that R1 will be a future cult classic

I'll be interested to see how CG Tarkin fares in years to come. Perhaps in a few years time we'll have 100% convincing CG humans and what's in R1 could prove to be very bizarre. Its uncanny-valley has proven a deal breaker for me, sadly. I'm taken right out of the film by him and odd Leia. I'm quite...

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 46 LAUNCHED

Thanks for another great episode guys and to the interviewees. It never ceases to amaze me when my name appears due to a minor purchase. I've said this before but what makes this show great it's about all types of collecting. There's interesting stuff at all levels. And this has to be the longest po...

The Last Fart?

Step aside Armando Ianucci, there's a new satirist in town.

Re: Latest Acquisitions

I got this 7" today which has been on my wants list. Designed for British Odeon and Rank cinema lobbies, it advertises the soundtrack LP alongside 'come to see The Empire Strikes Back here soon' type of dialogue over the Finale medley. http://i64.tinypic.com/xfdahg.jpg An existing recording of ...

I've seen Kenner Made In Mexico"s with a rough, almost dull, print on the rear too.

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 45 LAUNCHED

Listening now. Thanks for another great episode, lads. I'm currently loving the Norway interview with Rich - I love locations chat. As for storing paperwork and mags, I just do so as i would circa 1983 but with slightly more care in the form of magazine files to hold the comics and poster-mags etc. ...

Re: What Rare Items Do You Remember Opening?

I never started getting SW toys until Christmas 1980 yet I remember lots of 12 and 20 backs. My memory is that well into the ESB era, the first 12 were still on 12 backs and similar with the second wave on 20 backs.

I remember getting at least Vader, Threepio, Artoo on Pali 12 backs in early 1981.

Re: What Rare Items Do You Remeber Opening?

Palitoy 30back Fett for me too. It wasn't rare then tho. That's just how it rolled. I got my 18 grand's worth out of it in play value. I've still got it and it's wonderfully knackered. And I've told a boring story before where my pal bought a marked-down Fett in 1986 just to throw about and act the ...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Here's a meagre offering from me in the shape of a tiny piece of blue sticky paper! I've got an ongoing run of cardbacks which has been improved upon since I started collecting. Among it's 'rules' are to have at least one of every type of card sold in the UK. I've been after one of these forever. Th...

Re: Imperial Blaster Colour Question

I've always thought there's a relative abundance of light blue Imperial Blasters out there considering it only officially appeared with two figures and the Survival Kit. This has made me wonder if it did regularly appear where it shouldn't. However, I've also thought that their abundance in the mark...

Re: Send away offer paperwork Palitoy/Kenner Parker 1984/85

I never kept anything including cardbacks due to my like of cutting things out with scissors: characters, logos. And not for any real purpose. If there was a scrapbook or colage I could now have seen the masterplan.
