Re: Is Kenner worth more than Palitoy?

IMO collectors pay a premium for the Palitoy logo, because the colours are so vivid and patriotic and evoke a sense of nostalgia, hence SW and ESB are highly sought after. When it comes to ROTJ there is no logo and no nostalgia, and at that point I think collectors prefer a logo to none at all. As ...

Since you haven't logged in since asking the question, I'm guessing it's 'turn to stone'! :o

Re: Best way to flatten curved cardback?

Yeah straight into an acrylic case for me, just watch out when you slide it in because the tabs inside can rub against the card edges, and scrape the black litho off because the warped card is trying to push back against the tabs. The best way to combat this is a strip of paper folded lengthways ac...

Re: Which MOC is best - thoughts please.

It depends on whether you're looking sell the 'best' to get more money, or want to keep the 'best' for your own collection.

And photos would help :)

Re: What do you do when collecting gets boring?

Boring? I can see how it can get frustrating but never boring. As others have said it's always good to have other hobbies. I usually end up focusing on one whilst keeping the others ticking over in the background. Even if I'm not making many/any purchases I always enjoying looking at what I have in ...

Re: General Grumbling

Exactly it doesn’t matter how much you spend it’s the principle of it that if you buy something in that condition it should arrive the same way. I messaged him which he wouldn’t take responsibility and threatened me that is I leave a negative then he’ll leave one back. Now he’s told me to get a lif...

When you have useful information like that I don't see any problem with digging up an old post.

Re: Dagobah playset original foam preservation

The problem with keeping it permanently damp will be the growth of mould. I don't have any expert advice to offer on preserving this unfortunately, but I do know that mould will usually quickly grow on a damp and dirty surface (and unless it's never been played with, the foam will have lots of dirt...

Re: Dagobah playset original foam preservation

Cheers Andy, will do. So I'm assuming that's a permanent thing to stop it getting any worse and the foam is going to stay damp?

Dagobah playset original foam preservation

I've bought a really nice Dagobah playset. It has the original swamp foam which is complete and in great condition other than being damp, almost like it's 'sweating'. I know these are usually found to be dried out and crumbling, but I was wondering if anyone had come across this before or had any ad...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 9, 2018, Part 2/2

Some really great stuff on this thread! :D I'm a little late to the party, but here's my loose snowspeeder I think so too, the Die Cast line is a very unappreciated SW toy line. Your Snowspeeder looks mint and I must say your photography skills are awesome. Great photo! You're right, the die-cast l...
