Re: A Trip Down Memory Lane - photo donation and discussion thread

Love the 'Conways Arts and Crafts' sticker on Leia Poncho! That's in Keighley, West Yorkshire and is one of my childhood shops :D It actually still exists as a toy shop today.

Re: now china also try to sell PBP items

You're right, China's a hotbed of fakery for all kinds of products. It's a problem we have at the company I work for, but it's not just restricted to China. We've just seized goods worth over 1.4 million in the UAE. Usually, if I see something's for sale on ebay outside Europe I wouldn't buy it anyw...

Yup!

Or alternatively, no.

Scammers are a disease on the internet.

Re: Imperial Troop Transport Appreciation Thread

No, it's not irrational at all - I absolutely love this vehicle! I always wanted one as a kid and never had one, though one of the lads down the road had one; I seem to remember it and a couple of figures were his only Star Wars toys. I finally set about bagging myself a boxed Palitoy one a couple o...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

After a lengthy delay in customs my die cast bin has finally showed up, distinctly scruffy compared to the recent LAs here but it means I now have a way to display my headers. Frst pic is with the issue 1 header.  I've also added a second pic with it full of die cast (and acrylic) ju...

Re: Buying from the States/Facebook

Also another cheeky way around the VAT is to ask the seller if they can ship the item as a gift and mark the value under $20, 90% of sellers won't do it for obvious reasons but you can get lucky and get a surprising "yes" from the seller, usually when they just want to get the sale for an...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

On the theme of die-cast (bargain that Landspeeder!!)... I've not really bought much of late; there just hasn't been a summer price lull this year for the things I've wanted. Luckily I managed to get my mojo back over the past fortnight :) Here's the Takara TIE Fighter I recently purchased from Andy...

Re: some photos from my recent trip to Lulu Berlu shop Paris

Great photos, thanks for sharing them :)

I've never been to Lulu Berlu but my brother lived in Paris about 15 years ago and bought me a MISB 'Moto Jet' and Biker Scout from there. He said it was a pretty amazing shop back then.

Re: Where are all the toy shops?

Online/supermarkets/Argos/Toys r Us have pretty much killed them off. Of the 4 toy shops I frequented as a kid only one still exists.

Re: First ever toys as a collector?

As a collector...

First loose figure: Han Trench ~£3 in 1993
First carded figure: Teebo ~£5 in 1994
First boxed ship/vehicle: EDIT: Pomse's post reminded me I bought a Palitoy boxed AT-ST around 1994 from a comic mart for around £15.
