Re: Were you a "one toy line" kid?

Also remember fondly a Matchbox Space 1999 Eagle. I think I remembered it so well as I was severely ill post dental treatment under gas and hence part of the trauma offset! :lol: They had to keep stopping the Mk II Cortina so I could spu on numerous occasions. I wanted one of those Eagles when I wa...

Re: Question On Boxes And Inserts Etc When We Were Kids

I was one of those weird kids who kept boxes and actually put his toys back in them. :lol: All my SW vehicles were sold with their boxes, and most of the other toys I have from my childhood are still boxed! I think it's because I used to love looking at toys in the shops and liked the idea of boxin...

Re: Were you a "one toy line" kid?

I stopped playing with toys around 1984 so had some Jedi figs and a He-Man but none after that. Transformers and anything later passed me by. Looking back there was a lot less choice in the UK before 1984. Action Man and Star Wars were defintiely my favourites and still are today. But I also loved ...

Re: Were you a "one toy line" kid?

For me the main ones throughout my childhood were Lego, Star Wars and Action Man. There were a group of us at school who were properly into Star Wars toys, so I'd say Star Wars probably had the edge. When I stopped collecting Star Wars (just as the 77-backs were released - Wicket was my last figure)...

MIB Kenner Dagobah Playset ESB-B Sealed Contents including BACKPACK BAGGIE

This is a boxed unused Dagobah playset , with factory sealed bagged contents . What makes this more unusual is it's the ESB-B playset that includes a factory sealed Jedi training backpack baggie . Whilst I've seen the odd MISB version of this set I haven't seen an opened set with a sealed baggie bac...

Re: So are all collectors the same?

There are three types of collector:

The low-end collector;
The high-end collector;
The bell-end collector.

The first two co-exist harmoniously, it's only when the third is involved that problems begin. :wink:

Try this mate, but avoid the advice on whitening your R2, it's only temporary and likely to cause damage.

Re: Reproduction Weapons

I think others have hit the nail on the head - it's the instant gratification mentality versus the thrill of collecting a set of something over a period of time. I invest time in both educating myself about the hobby, which enables me to invest time in different ways of sourcing as many bargains as ...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 38, 2018, Part 2/2

First the pilot, then his ride, Lars? :-) OK, then! When I was a boy, I remember eagerly buying a Twin-Pod Cloud Car. The Pilot hadn't yet been released, hence the somewhat odd artistic choices made by Kenner's box photographer!... I can't say I remember Luke Bespin co-piloting a Cloud Car with a B...
