Re: Palitoy 41 Back List Rarest to the Most Common?

Still don't see the issue of not posting a pic for all to see, everyone knows that Darren will not be selling it, so why not just prove it's existence by putting a pic on the forum ??? I'm sorry Jason but that doesn't prove anything to me.... Then you can ignore the whole matrix then. As the entrie...

I'm not sure you'd want to go there these days unfortunately.

Re: Celebration Orlando

So, would you guys go again?

I'd be tempted to go if it's in California next time, although would have to tie it in with a proper holiday!

Re: Celebration Orlando

The journey there was horrendous and mainly because of Manchester Airport. This was my journey there: Bearing in mind I'm on crutches I had a 55L backpack and some hand luggage to carry. Gets to Newcastle train station for the 6am train. I then realise that I have 8 mins for the changeover at York!...

Re: How many of you kept your childhood collection?

I have all of my ships, in boxes with instructions and some inserts. I have about half of my figures, but these are generally incomplete - I traded a lot of my best figures for an ESB Boxed 12" Fett when I first started collecting... wish I hadn't but there we go. I don't want to display what I...

Re: When was the last time (first time round1) you spotted the original toys?

I definitely saw some last 17 for sale at a Tesco in Peterborough, then being hurried along by my mum. I didnt get any. Probably my last memory of seeing SW for sale in the 80s was at a card shop (I think) in Peterborough - they had tens and tens of Scout Walkers, all around the shop on some high sh...

I'd want them to come round and clean the chimneys the old fashioned way for that.

Sounds interesting! Is it purely vintage focussed?

Re: Huge AFA graded production collection to be auctioned off later in the year

To answer your actual question - I don't really think anybody who would invest say $500k could genuinely view it as a sensible investment. There are so many easier ways of making money off a decent amount of cash like that, without the hassles of the SW world. I buy the 'rich person gets bored' angl...

Re: Huge AFA graded production collection to be auctioned off later in the year

I may have missed something, but what's to say this isnt a fairly long time collector cashing out? Could be any number of reasons for doing so, not least prices are mental so if they're thinking now's the time to buy that boat or holiday home...

Re: London places??

Orbital Comics sometimes have a handful of loose figures I asked the miserable guy behind the counter there if he got much vintage star wars in these days (I was buying other stuff) - apparently they don't see much but don;t really want it anyway as it's not popular with the new sculpts being much ...

The Italian Death Star Droid is very rare - you'd be looking at a minimum of £1000 I think, and if a couple of collectors fancied it possibly closer to double that. Very cool card. Assuming it's fully sealed of course.

It's definitely more enjoyable when you're not stretching yourself financially. I bought a couple of high ticket MOCs last year and the shine was slightly taken off the experience by guilt. I appreciate them a bit more now that I have replenished my savings. I am usually good at buying within my me...

I know what you mean, but bet it's probably just being misremembered and memories changing over time.
