Re: First ever toys as a collector?

I bought a complete boxed Palitoy Falcon for £20 (still have it!) in about 1995. Probably a year later I bought my first moc - Palitoy 12 bk Vader for £80 or £90. I remember my dad going mental saying the sellers were taking advantage of me!

Re: Any new stories to do with dealing with the other half?

Just don't spend money which is earmarked for joint stuff and never, ever, ever say 'we can't afford to do that' if you spent the money on SW. After that, fuck it... you can always break the emergency glass and release the last resort 'I could be out spending the money on blow and hookers' phrase.

Re: What do you do when you hit a Brick Wall?

I just received this message from Jim on Rebelscum because I dared to ask for Photo's: Hi Anthony I have decided not to sell my figures to you, you haven't progressed our talks to the level I was hoping, I wont be contacting you about my figures again. All the best Jim To which I responded: Thank g...

Re: What do you do when you hit a Brick Wall?

My tormentor has returned on Rebelscum claiming to be a Palitoy Rep saying he has a 30 Back Luke Bespin, Leia Bespin, IG88, FX7, Bespin Guard and Bossk on both A and B cards all in mint condition and a 12 Back Palitoy VCJ also in mint condition, no pictures yet! I know everyone will call me naïve b...

Re: Palitoy Catalogue and Paper Items at Vectis 26th July

I got a Palitoy Leia Boushh for £60 and a 41bk ugnaught with some touch up for £150. Neither in perfect shape, but nice placeholders and nice not to have to pay stupid money for once.

Is aybody going up to collect?

Re: Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds Collectables Up For Auction

Lots of controversy surrounding some of the items in the auction. It seems the brother has been busy buying up SW at auctions after Carrie's death, some of which has found its way into the auction as part of the Carrie Fisher collection.

Re: Prototype Box Flats

Pretty speculative pricing - even 2 years ago these were well sub $10k. I'd love them, just couldn't justify $18k.

Re: 12 C VCJ with Harbert Sticker

Without seeing it in person, it's hard to say - but I'm leaning on it being a repair, rather than an outright fake. Chances of the bubble lining up AND the cardback being a rare harbert stickered variant has to be beyond slim!

Re: I have joined CAS's ownership team - PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP YOU OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOU WANT TO SEE

guys - you wont pay import duty to get your item back... I never have done with AFA. You're paying for an appraisal service, not the item - the insurance value doesnt come into it and it's legit. CAS just need to mark the forms properly. On the off-chance HMRC do charge you, it's an error and you ca...

Re: Vectis SW 40th Anniversary Wait

Same here, and since they haven't charged me for postage yet, I still have no idea how much longer I will have to wait. If this was eBay, I imagine negative feedback would be being considered by many buyers by now :-( I spoke to them about postage invoices and when items will be sent out and the re...

Re: Stolen Rocket Fett

It's also just been revealed that the same person has stolen many items from Steve Sansweet at Rancho Obi Wan over the last couple of years :( Many of which seem to have been sold on through Zach Tann (not knowing they were stolen and not part of the theft). Knowing how expensive items change hands...
