Re: Were you a "one toy line" kid?

Star Wars and Space Lego were the main lines I was bought as a kid - I had a fair bit of both. I also had quite a lot of Britain’s Farm toys. I had a couple of transformers but don’t recal ever getting any bought for me new. I went through a MASK phase and remember getting boulder hill one Christmas...

Re: Elliott Ashton - Memorial Thread

I didn’t know Elliot as well as many others here, but we shared a few good curries as well as texts/emails... mostly after Elliot stopped actively collecting. Funnily enough he was an art guy and I think we had a couple of mutual friends through that hobby too. Top guy who was incredibly kind... RIP...

Couldn’t agree more Spoons. Another nail in the coffin of what was a great hobby.

Re: How Do You Rank The SW Movies Now?

after watching a few recently (thanks ITV2!) I'm kind of in this mindset...

1. Rogue One
2. ESB
3. Jedi/TFA tied
5. ANH
6... all the others.

Re: Proof card guide

No online but buy Mattias’ Book ‘a new proof’. If you haven’t collected them for a while be prepared for a bit of a shock in terms of prices!

Amazing! Have you considered mounting it on a mirror so you get the full star destroyer effect?

Re: General Grumbling

Putting F&F or plus 4% in a sales advert. Just add the cost of the sale on to your price - as a seller there are costs and processing payment is one of them... that’s not a buyers cost. I’ve even seen this on $50k plus prototypes! I might have done this in the past, as the whole world does - but...

Re: What do you do when collecting gets boring?

I’m at the point where the last few bits I need fro my run are pretty hard to find, so could be months (or even years) without adding to my collection soon.

A break is good but not too long so to keep ‘fresh’ I expect I’ll collect something else with a slightly less tight focus.

Re: Rocket Fett, anyone?

Rocket fett jumps out of reach again... at that kind of money I’d sooner have a chunky deposit on a Porsche gt3. The last RF sold for something like $40k... last year IIRC. I’ve a feeling these buyers are the types who would spend $xxxk on a comic, so this is probably a comparative bargain. Dotcom b...
