Re: Vectis 25th September

I usually research all the lots I'm interested in before hand to have a good idea of current market value and then take approx 24% off that price to give me a rough top bid. That's exactly how I go about working out a top bid. Your hammer price needs to be substantially lower than market value to c...

Re: More AFA Preferential Grading

Is a given grade in reference to other *like items*? In this case, if there a precious few other graded examples of a glasslite ATL maybe this is the best they have ever seen, hence giving an 80. I'm sure this is not the case, just being imaginative for how an 80 could be assigned to this.

Re: THE VINTAGE REBELLION : Episode 49 LAUNCHED

Still trying to catch up on episodes - just one comment to Pete on your "Big Pick" item finally arriving to you (very early discussion in the podcast). You mentioned it odd that the item was shrink wrapped over the top of the store price sticker. My understanding about the big pick items i...

Re: Best way to flatten curved cardback?

thanks for the advice! its just cardback without bubble (not a MOC) so i'll give the book a go... If this is the case, perhaps just put it in a toploader? You will need to make sure the size is right, but here's an example if you've not heard of them before: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultra-Pro-Toplo...

Just finished the last hour or so of this one. Was a lot of fun to be involved in the discussion, thanks for having me on. Loved the "Hard for Han" disco mix ;)

Re: Is Kenner worth more than Palitoy?

I tend to think early Palitoy is rarer and more pricey than early Kenner - I'm talking SW and ESB stuff when the Palitoy logo is still printed on the cardfronts. But when it comes to Jedi, I personally think the brandless palitoy jedi cards are a bit stale and much prefer the kenner ROTJ versions - ...

Re: SWFUK PODCAST - Episode 5 LAUNCHED

I also remember Rich being adamant he is not a *packaging collector* yet just today I see 4 MOC R5-D4 items being posted on FB in a "show and tell" post - things change, nothing ever stays the same ;)

Re: Tsukuda Question

I saw a Kenner 65A Tsukuda MOC a year or two back for the first time - usually the sticker is on the 65B where the ewoks are included. Only one I ever saw, was fortunate enough to get a picture from the seller on eBay.
