Re: Do collectors sell to the highest bidder or accept a lower offer from a friend?

I'd be open to selling lower to a friend. For one, if an issue came up it should be able to be sorted out much better if you are friends and know each other. But it's a nightmare on eBay if a dispute starts, especially if you are a seller as 99% of the time PayPal and eBay will side with the buyer n...

Re: Are Private Sales good for the Marketplace or the Collecting Community?

I think they are great for the community. Only downside is that pretty much most of the high-end, and a lot of pre-production changes hands privately between friends so can be next to impossible to break into those circles if that's your goal. As a consequence, the wider community doesn't get to fin...

I know, same cost on my customs slip! They will need to sell that DT Ben for max value just to break even on the catalogue posting costs! :)

Great show as usual guys - oh and for the record, there are no plans to add the *rusty glove tuskin* to Star Wars Tracker :)

Re: Huge AFA graded production collection to be auctioned off later in the year

My copy arrived this week. Interesting catalogue to say the least! 300 pages worth. I organised this copy as Hakes recently got in touch with me to see if I was interested to include the results of these auctions in the Star Wars Tracker price guides. I am in the U.K., and I know they ship these to ...

Re: Huge AFA graded production collection to be auctioned off later in the year

I think you can request the catalog for free if you ask nicely!! I have one coming, will post a few photos when it arrives if it looks any good. Hakes have done a good job with the photos, so the catalogue might be a nice thing to have, and a great way to have some pictures of these items. Th...

Re: Kenner ROTJ Moc rarity

I still can’t believe it, I spent two years getting one for the right price, every time I tried to get hold of one they were drastically over priced or a 79 Back Trilogo or POTF. Does Star Wars tracker take into account that the same figure could get sold 5 times in the same year? All I said was is...

Re: Kenner ROTJ Moc rarity

There’s no way he’s the most common 77 A. I wouldn’t even say it’s the most common example of him on a card either If I look back several years, 77A is still the most common in terms of completed sales, by a long shot - that's what Vol(ume) 56 means. Below is graded and ungraded sales together. So ...

Going by the data in Star Wars Tracker over the last year, 77a is the most common for the Emperor - or did I misunderstand you?

VCJ Harbert Sticker MOC - Conclusion

Hi,

I was wondering what the final word on that Vectis auction for the Harbert sticker VCJ MOC was? To refresh your memories, there were claims that it was two pieces of separate MOCs glued together and not a genuine item. I never heard how it ended up, anyone know?

Cheers, Jared.

Re: The beginning of the end?

I think there has been a lot less activity taking place in terms of facebook chatter. I saw one post the other day from a guy selling up his collection because he has the chance to buy a classic car he always wanted. So I wonder if after the frenzy of the last few years, people are starting to move ...

Re: UK & US MOC price differences

Sometimes it can just be luck of a particular auction and everyone else is snoozing. But I think there are region price trends that can be exploited if you know what to look for. Below is one of the slides I did at celebration London charting the price of a loose set of complete first 12 figures. Ta...

Re: Star Wars Tracker Advice

your purchase date solution seems very sensible. setting it very early shouldn't skew the tracker date either. Well just to be clear - any price information you add stays private to yourself, it *never* contributes to the price guide. It's the only way to enforce the integrity of the data and preve...
