Re: Classic Collectables in Leek?

This is a great little shop, little being the operative word. I've been there a couple of times and even bought a few loose, complete figures and a couple of comics from there. Can't remember the guy's name but he's a nice bloke and prices are negotiable. I'd have been half a dozen times but his ope...

With the slight foxing and out of its cellophane these are about £20-£25. Lovely item.

Re: The rise and fall, and rise and fall of Dominoes, Leicester

Dominoes was the toy shop in Leicester in the eighties. I actually don't remember what figures I had or bought from my childhood but what I do recollect is they came from Dominoes. Every week my mum would take me and my brother there with our pocket money and we would get a new figure. The shop was...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Carl, it's great you've found a suitable budget Vader and he looks the absolute mutts for what you got him for. That card will flatten out just fine under some books after a week or two. Seahawks, that Helix stuff is very cool indeed. I've been gradually emptying a counter unit of it, too, and have ...

It only occurred to me to search the forum after posting this up

Did you make it to the brief period they reopened at Fenwicks?

The rise and fall, and rise and fall of Dominoes, Leicester

A (very) recent purchase caused me to look into a toy shop called Dominos in Leicester. It sounds like it was an absolutely amazing toyshop in it's day. Any forum members (looking at you, Laurence Dyer!) remember it or been there? Trying to get in touch with Steve Sansom who took it over from his fa...

Not much. Loose as low as a tenner if you're lucky and MISB maybe up to £60 or so. Great stands, modern or not.

Re: Princess leia autograph

Nice to know when you get stung and robbed everyone can have a laugh at that person's misfortune. It might not seem a lot to some but we haven't all got lots of money to spare and some of us have to save hard and do without to try and get a collection together. I'm down what is to me a bit of money...

Re: Princess leia autograph

That's a shame. Sorry to hear you've got burned, Shrek. I'd be onto the arsehole seller and creator of the certificate and see how far he goes on adhering to his promise of a lifetime guarantee.

Re: Boba Fett

My valuation was going on the 4-5 i saw at farthest from complete he was going for and average of £30 Yeah, I saw a nice enough Fett sell for £30 on Sunday. Think Ben had one up for £25 and I'm quite certain that wasn't there by the end of the day. When folks are paying £12/£15 for Stormtrooper bla...

Re: Old Comic Star Wars Adverts

Seen a couple of the Palitoy adverts sell for $40 on Facebook. Seems crazy when the comics are a couple of quid. Saw this this week, a slightly different take on the Fett ad. Very lo-tech IMG_4675.JPG It could be a simple case of moire. Apologies for slightly geeky cartoon but I love it :) : moire....

Re: Princess leia autograph

I'm afraid you'll need to post up a price if you want to sell here, as per the pinned post. A Carrie Fisher autograph obtained from Shirley Bassey? Intriguing. Probably worth sticking this up in the Autographs sections and having one of our more experienced autograph collectors have a look at it. Wi...

Re: Meccano trilogo ATST DRIVER

I've just sold a Trilogo Luke Poncho on Meccano Trilogo for £140. It had similar bubble damage but to one end only and was in better condition card wise and without touch ups. That said, Stephane and Yann's Collector's Handbook gives Luke Poncho 3/5 in terms of rarity and the AT-ST Driver as 4/5 in ...
