Re: Unpainted Chief Chirpa?

Plain old British Dettol is a good paint remover to without being harsh on plastic. I use it for removing paint from old minis, etc.

Re: Is this a Toy Toni?

My understanding was that he didn't think people would notice, as at the time there was no record of exact variants like we have now. We had some, but not in a way that could be checked across thousands of items.

Re: Are These Capes Real Or Repro ?

My wife gets a night away in a nice hotel, I get a day with vintage, win win. And yes if there is someone close to him to have a look it would be a good idea for him to do that, good thinking. Haha yeah she would be suspicious, secondly I suspect if I just said I won't be here waking ...

Re: Are These Capes Real Or Repro ?

I know he does, plus I am sure he would love it as would I, but I doubt I can convince my gf that it would be a nice couple of days away!

Just thinking that there are plenty of great people, who if he can say what area he is in, someone will probably be willing to take a look for him.

Re: Are These Capes Real Or Repro ?

Whilst I love the idea of farthest from, it just happens to be in the worst location in the UK for most people, i live pretty much in the middle of the uk and its a 5-6 hour drive for me (with no traffic). I would suggest he gives some idea of location and see if anyone nearby can help.

Re: Exciting possibly new coo discovery

Perhaps a lot of them were binned but kenner employees undoubtedly kept some of them, brought them home, stored them, gave them to their children etc. They were also rescued from dumpsters by collectors and dealers that had the foresight that they might be valuable. As to how Kenner pre production ...

Re: Nice auction last night

To be honest I think it is slightly expensive but certainly I could see my self spending around this price, I don't have a lot in the way of figures, am coming into a bit of money and would be easier than hunting a bunch of stuff down. If you are buying to keep then the collection is probably only g...

Re: Luke x-wing and Luke Hoth - No sabers??

This was irritating me because I was sure there was a scene with Luke on Endor. SO i just watched it (yes I have it on my phone), and when they land on Endor as they first climb up to scout the base you can see Luke is carrying some form of large rifle (similar to a bulky M16) EDIT: Just rewatched i...

Re: Case assortment of Kenner Star Wars figures?

I think the question was, "how did they ship figures"?

i.e. were they always shipped as a box of 144 Farmboys, or did they have mixed cases and did they mix up waves of figures as they were released.

Re: Luke x-wing and Luke Hoth - No sabers??

Also it was clear after the 12" figures they knew Luke's lightsaber was blue so it has to be a stylistic choice?
