Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 17, 2018, Part 1/2

Here are my 4 loose variants: 2-1B - 01.jpg 2-1B - 02.jpg Nice, I love variants. Which variants are they ? :D Thanks :-D Well, bearing in mind that I collect variants which are visually different from one another, rather than specific COOs, then from the top down and from left to right, I describe ...

Re: General Grumbling

One of mine is a Star Destroyer shaped like a small box.... really? Never had or seen one as a kid but as an adult I think it was a poor / lazy idea, surely it couldn't have hurt to make a fucking badass long ship almost the length of your average living room rug, other toy franchises made massive ...

Re: General Grumbling

Well firstly, I have to say that I love the vintage toys (like everyone here, I hope!). That said, there are soooo many things I wish they'd done better or differently. I'll limit myself to just one for now: The door hinges on the Palitoy Cantina... What pieces of crap! Shiny silver stickers which a...

Re: £5k????????

This figure encapsulates everything I hate about grading! So what if it's a '95' in one self-appointed 'expert's' personal opinion? There is absolutely NOTHING about this figure which justifies such a ludicrous price tag! And anyone paying it is an ignorant moron with far more money than sense.

Re: Lili Ledy value

Welcome to the Forum. Generally, Lili Ledy figures are rarer and more valuable than their Kenner equivalents, but fairly obviously, condition can play a major role in their value. I recommend uploading good, clear pictures (front and back of the figures) of whatever you want a valuation on. Forum me...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 17, 2018, Part 1/2

This is one that I can add to. Lovely cardback picture in my opinion. Great condition this one, except for the cut POP. That's a great card! Like you, I also really rate the card picture on 2-1B. It really adds a tremendous amount to the figure, which otherwise could easily have looked a little bit...

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

I have to say I buy graded and ungraded and more of my ungraded MOC have been damaged than the graded ones. I'm sure that's quite true, as MOCs can't suffer a number of different accidents if they're sealed rather than not. I'm just having a gentle joke above, as transparently the one thing a grade...

Thanks, Andy :-). I'll gladly do similar ones for the Palitoy Cantina and Droid Factory when they come up on Toy of the Week... Unless someone else beats me to it, of course!

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 16, 2018, Part 2/2

Do you know how much a palitoy land of the jawas playset complete with box and instruction cost today ? :? If you don't mind the box not being perfect, you should be able to find one on eBay for around £200 - £250, if you're patient. Several complete boxed ones usually come up for sale each year, b...

Re: When was the last time you saw a carded figure out in the wild?

Circa 1992 in Forbidden Planet in London. They had a whole rack of Tri-Logo MOCs, mostly ewoks, and I remember thinking the prices were outrageous... £8.99 if memory serves! They also had some Jedi boxed AT-AT's, which I think were around £50-£60, but I'm half-guessing on that price after all this t...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 16, 2018, Part 2/2

Thanks for that great concise review on both playsets. I knew that they were different, but as I don’t collect these had never realised how different the two sets were. I assume that the Kenner one was “better” quality as they would not have got away with a cheaper set in the USA? Thanks :-) I beli...

That's some stellar work, Grinchy! I can't believe how much better they look with the weathering. It makes me wish Hasbro had bothered trying to do something similar in the first place.
