Re: Customs Charges

Years ago, Jim Stevenson told me a sorry tale about a very rare and valuable mint vintage box he was sent from America. I can't remember exactly what he said it was, but apparently it came flat packed and you assembled it yourself (and btw, if anyone can work out what it might be, I'd love to know!)...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 15, 2018, Part 1/2

I bought my first Snowspeeder aged 9 when on holiday at Loch Ness in 1981. Sadly that particular example came with a missing part, so it had to go back to the toy shop and I bought a Turret and Probot playset instead as they had sold out of Snowspeeders. It took me a while, but I eventually managed...

Re: Modern MOC 'investing'

As for putting together a full carded run, I hope you literally mean just the POTF2 figure line rather than the entire modern line :-D. The former is quite achievable, but the latter would be a truly enormous undertaking due to the sheer number of figures released! Ha ha - definitely the former, wi...

Re: Modern MOC 'investing'

I picked up a couple back in the day but for curiosity rather than anything else. I am strangley drawn to POTF2 these days and can see my self putting a carded run together, especially with the current prices of vintage. I think there are others with a similar view and we may start seeing modern in...

And the listing said it was 'rare'. Too bad it ended before I had a chance to bid on this bargain.

Re: I hope no one thinks they're getting the real thing...

Seems like this seller has got a track record of including what looks like a VCJ in groups of figures, as well as fake weapons, feedback from one unhappy buyer, https://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=senejk_9&iid=-1&de=off&items=25&searchInterval=30&am...

Re: Removing soot from a moc

I really hope you manage to improve the condition of this card. I have no idea what the best method to use is, however a quick bit of Googling has yielded these two potentially useful pages. The first is a guide to help remove smoke damage from wallpaper: http://www.jondon.com/how-to/technical-tips/...

Re: I hope no one thinks they're getting the real thing...

Some idiots never learn! And the cheeky bastard also had the front to add this bullshit line to his relisting:

"Selling again due to time waster!!"

That 'time waster' would of course be himself, presumably! Let's hope he gets 'negged' again by the next unlucky winner

Re: MOC Autographed or noit?

Of course not. Why would I want to buy or own a deliberately defaced card? ... Ooh, but my Darth Vader MOC is signed by Dave Prowse! Well firstly, so what? But secondly, if that floats your boat then technically that's fair enough, as anyone is entitled to do whatever they like to their own propert...
