Re: Where do you buy Rare MOC?

Yes Im still around, just very busy with my normal business and trust me with all this crappy English weather, Im more than desperate to get abroard, feel the sun on my back and sort some of my SW Collection and stock out for all you fellow collectors. Hopefully this year Im planning to bring a nic...

Re: Time to call it a day.

I have been searching and I am sorry if I have bumped this thread and it's not suitable. Is there a 'Pickup,' collecting thread? I could only find this regarding losing the collecting Star Wars bug. I am going through this stage myself at the moment. Nothing serious just considering selling everyth...

Re: General Grumbling

I am forever grumbling about the lack of MOC Palitoy Logo'd stuff to buy, it doesn't get me anywhere but sometimes I feel the need to moan about it. I remember your posts about trying to complete your collection. Out of curiosity did you stop and sell up? Or are you still holding out? From what I r...

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

I only collect Palitoy Logo'd MOC 12-45A, I didn't think TT did any of those card types.

Re: Have prices peaked? Where are they going?

I think it is impossible to say if prices have peaked yet as it depends what you collect. I currently collect Palitoy 12 - 45A back and there is nothing for sale and without sales how can you determine whether prices have peaked or not. I have spoken to another collector who is contemplating exiting...

Re: DT Ben and Vader sell for over $100,000

I also think people seem to have difficulty in attaching value to Star Wars collectibles you often here people referring to them as pieces of plastic. Is a car just a piece of metal or a stamp a piece of paper what something is made of has very little to do with its value. If someone spends 35 milli...

Re: DT Ben and Vader sell for over $100,000

I am not sure who bought them as I have been focused on buying Palitoy which is a complete waste of time as there is nothing for sale. It's possible the same person bought them as if you want a Ben then you would also want a Vader I know I would.

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

When I was buying Star Wars MOC everything was pregraded which became the norm for me. That all changed once I moved onto ESB where most of the stuff I have bought ungraded and got it graded afterwards. I understand in many instances a Star case would probably offer more protection than a graded cas...

Re: Investor or Collector?

If I am an investor then I am a lousy one as I get too excited when I get offered something and find it impossible to sell anything.

Re: DT Ben and Vader sell for over $100,000

I know this stuff is really expensive but if you have the money and it makes you happy then why not. I don't think people are mental for buying something that makes them happy.

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

I have to say I buy graded and ungraded and more of my ungraded MOC have been damaged than the graded ones. I'm sure that's quite true, as MOCs can't suffer a number of different accidents if they're sealed rather than not. I'm just having a gentle joke above, as transparently the one thing a grade...

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

I don't collect any of that Toy Toni stuff so it doesn't affect me. What I find most bizarre about grading are the collectors that buy graded items only to crack them out. Surely by buying a graded item you are supporting the industry you allegedly hate. What I find even more absurd are collectors w...

Re: Investor or Collector?

I bought a X-Men 1 CGC 8.0 4 years ago and it has more than doubled in value so from an investment perspective comics are a much better buy than Star Wars in my opinion. Comic Books in general are quite common as in you can go on Ebay and buy one easily so long as you have the disposable income but ...

Re: Set loose from an AFA tomb

I love graded items as it takes all the stress out of buying. I have been offered items with major flaws like ink touch ups, lifting bubbles and even reseals where the person still considers them C9. The flaws are not mentioned until I ask will it grade. Give me a graded acrylic tomb any day of the ...
