Rarity perception

This one bounces around my noggin every once in a while and after watching yesterday's auction at Aston's I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. There seems to often be a disparity between the relative rarity and the prices attained or expected of comparable items in this hobby. Everyone k...

Re: Astons auction

Anyone know what the Droids Fett went for? Bids went to £1200 but the lot passed. Didn't meet the reserve which i believe was £1400. Can't see why the auctioneer didn't use their discretion and let it go for that. They probably could have squeezed it to £1400 if they worked a little harder to sell ...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 37, 2018, Part 2/2

Hi andy, I hope you find one for your great collection  thanks Lars, I used to pass on these when they were £40 thinking that was too much for three common figures and a box. How times change  I agree prices is crazy today and have been for many many years. I bought mine nearly 10 years ...

Re: Astons auction

Those loose lots have just gone for daft prices! And from the sounds of it, most have gone to the same bidder...probably a "dealer". Good luck making profit on that.

And then two loose complete Jabbas and Taun Taun for £100 plus commission (£127). Riiiiiiiiiiight!

Re: Astons auction

Yes, wouldn't be the first time repro has been seen here. Not often I feel the need to say it, but the auctioneer is really, really bad at this :? No warning on knocking a lot down. Half a dozen words could draw at least one, probably two, bids out. As for the Lego prices, I wish I could get those ...

Re: Astons auction

Watching at the moment...I don't know if those Lego prices are average or not, but the pre-bidding on some of the vintage is just stupid. Not sure whether we're looking at collectors or resellers here, but they are either paying over the average value or kidding themselves there's a profit margin le...

Re: Avoid this fucknugget

So they randomly refunded me today which is happy days, it does leave me out of pocket if I pay postage to return the cards so I was thinking just chuck them in a jiffy bag, address them and pop them in the postbox thus give them the headache of (a) collecting them and (b) paying the postage and fe...

I was thinking of doing the same, Nick. Would be good to hear feedback from those who have it in hand.

Trilogo AT-ST Driver MOC

Got this lovely Trilogo 70b AT-ST Driver for sale. Not surprisingly extremely clean and fresh as it came from the recent old shop stock find and sold at Gildings Auctions a few months back. Really clean, rich, glossy, flat card with just a small crease/veining at the far top left of the card and tin...
