Re: Earliest Vintage SW Memories

I'm sure it has been discussed before, but I never tire of nostalgic memories. This is what it's all about. I remember my first figure was a Sensorscope R2. I got one because my older brother got one, in that classic way parents had to placate one sibling when the other got a present. Even though I ...

Re: Card back rarity.

This kind of relates to what I said in the feedback for the last podcast with the discussion about new cardback discoveries and the hunt for other yet undiscovered cardbacks. I'm sure there are a lot of rare cardbacks in people's collections they don't realise are rare.

A shrewd business move I might add on the part of The Prop Store. The cost of a few cases of fizz will quickly be recouped with the boost in bids it brings.

Re: Astons auction

Tbf the vectis stuff makes Aston’s lots look like tat, so can see why people didn’t bother Surprised the sealed hoth rescue went so cheap though as I know they go for around 1k+ in nice condition How much was it? (Apologies for not using google) It went for £830 with commission, so not too far out ...

Re: Restoration advice

Avoid using anything abrasive. You'll only end up damaging the plastic. Soak it in methylated spirits for 5 mins. This will soften is sufficiently to enable you to pick off the paint with a plastic implement.

Re: Astons auction

The run of the mill stuff went for market or above. The beater job lots of figures, well, what can you say? Crazy money. Apart the beaters :?: Is this a sign there is a slow down / recession in SW vintage? Possibly. Time will tell. You could read into it that a lot of collectors who got back into c...

Rarity perception

This one bounces around my noggin every once in a while and after watching yesterday's auction at Aston's I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. There seems to often be a disparity between the relative rarity and the prices attained or expected of comparable items in this hobby. Everyone k...

Re: Astons auction

Anyone know what the Droids Fett went for? Bids went to £1200 but the lot passed. Didn't meet the reserve which i believe was £1400. Can't see why the auctioneer didn't use their discretion and let it go for that. They probably could have squeezed it to £1400 if they worked a little harder to sell ...

Re: Star Wars Toy of the Week, Week 37, 2018, Part 2/2

Hi andy, I hope you find one for your great collection  thanks Lars, I used to pass on these when they were £40 thinking that was too much for three common figures and a box. How times change  I agree prices is crazy today and have been for many many years. I bought mine nearly 10 years ...
