Depends on what you mean by intentional, I didn't intentionally make the buttons on a control panel in an Alfa Romeo the same size as a shirt button but they are

Soo, coincidence then?

Re: My Childhood Collecting Case!!

That's cool, thanks for sharing!

I think all my family's SW figures were kept in a large round emulsion paint tub with the metal handle, it was also full of Lego and M.U.S.C.L.E. figures and the odd random trading card.

Re: Question On Boxes And Inserts Etc When We Were Kids

I never had any Star Wars toys to open :( that was my older brother's thing and I was too young and into other stuff, I do have very clear memories of what we did at xmas though. Me and my 3 brothers every year would all have our presents stacked up inside large black bin liners, my mom would stand ...

Re: Becoming desensitised to money due to collecting?

Iv'e also experienced this shift in mentality, I went through a skint period for a while where I had literally nothing after the last recession hit, and I actually came out of it with a saving mentality to save for the future over the past 8 years now roughly. And as a bit of perspective when I put ...

Re: Vintage 70's / 80's Argos catalogues

I think I mentioned on the last argo's thread a few years ago, I could not believe the price £28.00 for the atat back in 81=82, what is that in todays money, it really makes you think how expensive toys were back then compared with today, (although some Hasbro prices are mad compared with other Chi...

Re: Vintage 70's / 80's Argos catalogues

Thanks for the replies guys some useful info to think about there, I did also wonder did Argos just simply not realise how popular the toys would have been?, I suppose there's plenty of stories out there of many different companies not foreseeing the success in a franchise and then not preparing for...

Re: Vintage 70's / 80's Argos catalogues

Haha from vintage toy nostalgia to seedy underwear drooling within minutes.

One little thing I picked up on is how the toy section which we all recognise as always being near the back, was actually at the front of the catalogue up until the late 70's, funny how that changed.

Re: Vintage 70's / 80's Argos catalogues

I don't think my mom used to get the Argos catalogues in the 80's / early 90's, i'm pretty sure it was always Index or Littlewoods, her and my dad used to get it all on credit and literally spend the entire year up until the next xmas paying all the last xmas' stuff off. Always remember the start ba...

Vintage 70's / 80's Argos catalogues

Just found a cool site with PDF's scans of all the 70's, 80's & 90's Argos catalogues and have been having a right nostalgia trip browsing through all the toy pages and looking at prices etc. What puzzles me though is the sheer lack of anything Star Wars? :? I thought there would have been a lot...
