Early solid dome R2D2 - Why so expensive?

A quick question. This early solid dome sold for over £400. Can anyone tell me why so expensive?

I think a more pertinent question is “is she wanting to meet you again”?

Re: Oh for goodness sake!!

It’s the 2nd most costliest item if you insert vintage Star Wars into eBay search. I wonder if he’d accept a £15 bid?

Re: Fake Rebel Hoth Trooper Rifle ?

Regardless I would say you are ok. The top one looks like a variant 3 from the TIG site in dull black finish. The bottom one looks like variant 2, again in the dull black finish. They both have EPM marks and I haven’t seen a Repro with one of those yet.

Re: Fake Rebel Hoth Trooper Rifle ?

Hi Lars, it looks like the one in pictures 3 and 4 is the top one in picture 1, which you refer to as the one from your collection. Can you clarify for me.

Re: "Uncracked Limbs"

I have a few PBP figures with the so-called uncracked limb syndrome. They will stiffen up after every significant period packed away. When you “uncrack” them they revert to their normal state which can be tight or loose depending on how much they have been played with in the past. I wouldn’t be surp...

Re: Is this really a childhood DV Lightsaber?

I heard Stefan Callear and Jabbas Court are holding a Repro clinic there. I’d love to go one year but it’s a long way at such short notice and besides my sister is getting married and would never forgive me

Re: Repairing the Princess

Keep your childhood toy as is for sentimental value and if you want to grade one for a loose first 12 run for your kid buy another and get it graded. As spoons said they won’t touch it if it’s been glued, repainted or touched up in any way.

Re: Is this really a childhood DV Lightsaber?

The only two flat tip transitions on TIG are v1 which is notable for the thin protrusion from the tip (almost like a 2nd tip if you like) and v2 which is shown with letters on the hilt. It certainly is not v1 as it does not have the small protrusion and I have had one of these variants in the past a...

Is this really a childhood DV Lightsaber?

Hi guys, I’ve recently acquired a Darth Vader off of someone on eBay who claims to be selling his childhood collection. When the figure turned up I immediately put it back as (to me) the Lightsaber was a known reproduction from the 90s. It is a flat tip transition with a very thin hilt - you know th...
