Re: Why was Grand Moff Tarkin excluded from the original run?

I don't think there's much mystery. He was far too boring to make the cut of the first 21, and a doesn't appear in ESB or ROTJ so he couldn't be released in those waves. If POTF had carried on we would have seen him, but the line was axed before he made the list. Death Squad Commander was an odd ch...

Re: Why was Grand Moff Tarkin excluded from the original run?

looking at the original 12 figures all playing major roles or a somewhat decent role apart from the death squad commander. I use to think the DSC was just put in there at the last minute as Tarkins replacent when they couldnt do Tarkin himself as it does seem odd to have this imperial officer in th...

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story Solo SPOILERS First Reactions

Reviews are a bit mixed. I have read it’s a bit safe / boring with a ‘linear’ storyline. Gotta say after the glowing reviews for TLJ, I’m quite relieved by that! If by ‘linear’ they mean the plot isn’t incredibly convoluted to the point of being nonsensical, then that might suit me down the the gro...

Re: 1983 Return of the Jedi Luke Jedi Knight Outfit figure

Personally I would wait. I think with a little patience you will find one in better condition for less money. and probably closer to home (IE: a seller in europe) which should reduce the cost of shipping too.

Re: 1983 Return of the Jedi Luke Jedi Knight Outfit figure

I'm thinking about purchasing a 1983 ROTJ Luke in Jedi Knight Outfit figure, but I don't know if that is a good decision, because of the figures condition. The card all by itself looks very good, with no dents or cracks. The only problem is the bubble - it's yellow, but everything about the figure ...

Such a shame about this kind of thing.

Makes you wonder how many people out there have been conned, and have absolutely no idea that the rare/ valuable item sitting in their display is not real.

Perhaps they meant £7.49 and made a typo?

Re: Why do most SW fans say ESB is the best film in the OT?

If pushed I would probably say ESB is my favourite, but that doesn't mean I think the other two (yes there are only three Star Wars films) are inferior. All three are masterpieces, and very different. ESB has the best sabre fight IMO - not the most technical, but that old saying "less is more....

Re: i believe that R1 will be a future cult classic

Jaws is a good example, I consider that to be a cult film not sure everyone would. It’s interesting when you start thinking about it, my perception of a cult film is probably completely wrong. :D I don't know, I think as you say, everyone has different ideas about what qualifies. Wikipedia also lis...

Re: General Grumbling

I don't really have many grumbles other than repro stuff. That and some insane prices, prices which keep many genuine collectors who have been in the hobby a long time from owning certain pieces, finishing certain runs etc. I think that is a shame. One observation I have: No Moff Tarkin figure, I th...

Re: i believe that R1 will be a future cult classic

Depends how you interpret a ‘cult film’ or ‘cult classic’. There is no rule saying a cult film can’t have a huge following from the beginning. Although I don’t really see how R1 was origional or changed the way movies are made or perceived. I do think in 30 years time another generation will look a...

Re: i believe that R1 will be a future cult classic

How the hell do you class Pulp Fiction as a cult classic?!?! Literally one of the most publicly liked and hyped films in the past 25 years. I can't name a person that hasn't seen it.. Fight club comes close to this too... then in your closing comment to suggest Star Wars fits into the cult section ...

Re: i believe that R1 will be a future cult classic

Nah. It was mediocre at best. It certainly would not deserve the status of cult classic. When you look at other cult classics: Blade Runner Pulp Fiction & Reservoir Dogs Donnie Darko Fight Club A Clockwork Orange Vertigo I really don't think R1 deserves that status. It will certainly have a cult...
