Re: The future of Vintage Star Wars collecting

I agree with all the above, when I was growing up and playing with toys in the late 70's early 80's we would think nothing of setting up huge dioramas in the garden with mud, boxes and old polystyrene nicked from the supermarket when mum was doing the shopping. Star wars , action man, mac men, micr...

Re: New retroline.......

I don't really feel that this is a cash grab. The recent figures for TFA and TLJ have been very dull, I have had literally no interest in them whatsoever. The Black Series don't appeal to me and the vintage collection are now overpriced and I dislike some of the sculpts. The moment I saw these I kne...

Re: New retroline.......

I just took the pre-order plunge with these (Thanks for the link Palifan). I missed the boat with The Vintage Collection and even they are quite expensive now. I can have all 6 of these for the cost of one of the more popular Vintage Collection figures (I also prefer the original sculpts). These are...

Re: Whats your opinion of this ?

I think it would have been nice to have a Han Stormtrooper official release. I can't imagine why they didn't bother, they did Luke, surely it would have made sense so people could have the pair? It is a nice idea but I would never buy this, purely because it fans the flames of repro stuff, and gives...

Re: So what did you think about Solo: A Star Wars Story ??? *NO* SPOILERS

Can't see me watching it unless it's on TV sometime. Even then I wouldn't put money on it. As it stands I'm odds on not to watch the last film whenever it comes out either. That last farce just sapped whatever lingering any interest I had in the new films that wasn't killed off by the prequels. I t...

Re: Rate TLJ out of ten

2.

I only saw it once at the cinema and have absolutely no desire to ever see it again.

The only part I liked was when Luke turned up at the end.

Unfortunately, apart from that bit, they proceeded to completely destroy the beloved character of Luke Skywalker.

I literally just got around to seeing this. Dad got the DVD for Christmas.

I thought it was pretty good to be fair, far better than The Last Jedi.

There were one or two "meh" moments, but on the whole I liked it.

Re: What got you back into collecting?

Digging my old childhood figures out of my dad's loft about a year and a half ago. In the mid 90's I had individually bagged and stored them all. I had actually forgotten they were there! I kept the mint ones myself to kick-start collecting, and gave around 40 mid-range condition to beater figures t...

Re: What baffled you most about the toys as a kid?

The Star Destroyer play set. I just couldn't get my head around it...Thought it looked so weird. The mini-rigs also caused me some issues...I just remember thinking "that wasn't in the film", I don't think I fully grasped the concept of them  A few other small issues I had (OCD coming...

Re: Hayden C

He seems like a top guy in real life. I think he struggled slightly in AotC, but there are not many young actors who confronted with that role wouldn't have to be honest. But he did his best, and I am convinced that some of the problems he had were with the dialogue he was forced to spout (a common ...

Re: POSITIVE ONLY - Movie/scene list

Star Wars: Binary sunset: everything about this scene just works, it gives me a chill up the spine every time I see it. Anyone who has ever felt frustration and longed for something else can identify with Luke here. Mos Eisley Cantina: this is just a fun scene, all the creatures around, Han is cool...

You don't lose your true fan status because someone says your not a true fan, you know your a fan and that's all that matters. Other people's opinions of me in truth are not important to me, I have my own principles, self esteem and values. Try to live a life that does not impact anyone else throug...

Re: George's vision for episodes 7-9

Hmmm. Looks like he was diving back into his "keep that for later" writing box. The "Whills" were part of one of George's early drafts for Star Wars. In the early stages he had it named something like "Journal of the Whills" they were supposed to be a "little peopl...

Re: Why was Grand Moff Tarkin excluded from the original run?

I don't think there's much mystery. He was far too boring to make the cut of the first 21, and a doesn't appear in ESB or ROTJ so he couldn't be released in those waves. If POTF had carried on we would have seen him, but the line was axed before he made the list. Death Squad Commander was an odd ch...
