I think there a good point made here about childhood collections, which I would say in the main a collector would keep, therefore by default have a loose run

For me I only have a few loose but do have first 12 loose on the Mail away stand which was a must for me as far as loose was concerned.

The restoration of pieces in this way for me is breathing life back into components and bringing vintage back to life, has to be a good thing. The further we go in time the more we need to keep vintage components going, maybe they are not case fresh and super vintage finds, but it is vintage and put...

So it sounds like your doing the right thing here if your going to monetise the valuable figure s and do what you say with the funds and keep the rest for your lad.

I would suggest with a little bit of research, you can pop the valuable pieces on eBay and see how things go, and keep the rest.
