Re: Modern collection thread

Inspired by Spoons' tentative step into the world of POTF2 on the acquisitions thread I'd thought I'd put up some pics of my graded THX figs. Last year I posted photos of my Euro POTF2 Long Picture set so this is a bit of a companion to that. Its taken me years to build these up and get them ...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Yeah some great cards. I liked the Freeze Frame line, if i remember rightly the blue collection 3 cards were the hardest and most expensive to get a hold of. I remember some people asking for 45 quid for the Death Star Trooper and Death Star Droid back in '98!

Re: Star Wars toy sales down

I find the price and general lack of availability to be the biggest reasons for me not picking more if the figures up... the movie does have its ups and downs, but I would still buy the figures if they weren’t so dear. :( Just give it 6 months and they'll all be £1.99 each. :D Absolutely right... i...

Re: The Last Jedi - **SPOILERS THREAD**

Saw it last night, not sure what to make of it. I liked Luke's scenes but I'm not convinced by the whole space chase scene. I couldn't help wondering why the First Order chose to sit and blast away at a couple of Rebel ships with the plan of waiting till their fuel runs out when they could easily ha...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Thanks for the information, really interesting. I stopped collecting modern around the start of the freeze frame releases, so that may account for not seeing them? I agree that the large picture makes these stand out all for the right reasons. I did have a look on eBay last night and could only fin...

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Ever since seeing Stratpack's run of large photo EU release POTF cards I've been looking to complete a run myself. It's taken over 14 months to find the 9 cards but I've eventually got there. The Rebel Commando could do with upgrading as has a little wear on the card and slight dent on bubble, but ...

Re: Modern wanted thread

Looking for carded Unkar Plutt, Captain Rex, Finn FN-2187 and Vader on Force Awakens cards to finish off the set.

Not looking to pay through the nose or anything, especially as most characters are going for 3 quid in Home Bargains, I just can't find these last ones. :)

Re: Latest Modern Acquisitions

Bargain two-pack there, Palifan :) This is number 7/9 in the large photo European release cards. Just need Rebel Commando and the ERG to complete the run. This guy went AWOL for a while but has shown up. Makes him all the more special! IMG_9432.JPG Nice one - only 2 to go! Is this the one that was ...

Re: POTF II Tansition Tray figures - Short Sabre Long tray

I picked up a transition tray Luke farmboy from Argos back in the mid 90s. Think I sold it for about 50 quid in 2004 (had a small tear on the cardback). Interestingly though I also had Luke farmboy on a POFT2 Gigi card (Guerre Stellari) with transition tray that I had picked up for a couple of quid....

Re: Large photo EU release POTF II figures

Wow, £7 for the Snowtrooper is an awesome price :o There's always been readily available Luke Bespins. I bought a few recently but none were mint cards despite being described as so. I get sick of people not being accurate with their description so i'm resigned to picking one up when I see one in th...

Re: Large photo EU release POTF II figures

If you can get them for that price you're doing really well. Most of my purchases when trying to collect the set for the 2nd time were through Ebay and so I probably paid about on average 12-15 each for the Snowtrooper, Grand Moff, Ewoks and ERG. This was over a long period of time though as they di...

Re: Large photo EU release POTF II figures

yip it was me that posted it. There's actually 9 in total, I just haven't picked up a really good Luke Bespin to be graded at the moment.
