Re: COLLECTORABILIA - Sales Fair - LEEDS 19th SEP

I'm very likely to be going. Might there be a decent turnout vintage wise? Manchester comic con frankly was shit vintage wise and I want to avoid a repeat if I can. Gonna be a crazy day moving middle step daughter into Huddersfield university then dashing back to the Etihad to watch the Blues agains...

Re: What's the age range of vintage collectors?

I'm 40. Saw all of them at the cinema both on their own and as part of the double and triple bill. Must have seen "Star Wars" on a re release as I have memories of the light sabre fight being on clapperboard. I must have been older than 2. My dad then asked me if I wanted to go and see the...

Re: Kenner C3PO 12 back ukg straight 85's for sale price drop

Would have been interested if I hadn't bought one off UK garrison last month.

I think it's great that you would rather sell to the forum and hope you get a buyer soon.

Re: Manchester Comic Con 25-26 July

There was only a smattering of vintage. Mr Starzone was there and had two cracking palitoy 12 backs- Chewie and the stormtrooper that is on his website. Unfortunately the Chewie had been sold and the Stormie just wasn't quite what I am looking for. Still it was nice to chat. Hopefully they'll be mor...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Finally took the plunge last week thanks to UKgarrisson. Have been a silent stalker for a couple of years weighing up whether to get back into collecting or not. I thought it best to wait until prices were at an absolute premium before deciding to act...... Given the inflated state of the market, I ...

Re: Advice for a wannabe new/old collector

Thanks Lom. Appreciate that. :D :D :D MoMike. Pleased that Gaz and Tel are still at it. The number of times I went in their shop and thought, "if only I had the cash". Remember them having a full set of tri logos in a sales box once. But it's letting R2 and 3PO go for £120 on 12 backs that...

Re: Advice for a wannabe new/old collector

Thanks Jez. I've often weighed up Farthest From but have been put off by the distance tbh. Wouldn't be able to make the one at the start of August because we are away but will consider the one after that. Can anyone advise regarding ordering from abroad? Do customs charge on importing items from Ame...

Re: Advice for a wannabe new/old collector

Hi Vernon. Thanks for replying. I've seen the overseas sites but am put off because there seem to be customs duties levied at an import? If anyone can enlighten me on this I would be grateful. I remember Bowlers having fairs that I think I got my suspect TT from. Missed out on the "Hac" my...

Advice for a wannabe new/old collector

Chaps. As referred to in my earlier post in the "who's who" topic, I've recently returned to the hobby after a long abstinence. I have a more of less complete loose collection including last 17 that will stay in the loft. I just like KNOWING that I have them. I have about 30 moc but would ...
