Re: Latest Acquisitions

Been trying to finish my 77 back run but could not resist this 65 back Squid Head. Continuing with the Tsukuda Sticker theme. :P http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/theforceuk/imagejpg1_zps2bd2a73b.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/theforceuk/imagejpg2_zpsf04169d5.jpg Sorry anout t...

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

There's no need for any force, just run a stanley knife along the gap at the bottom and keep going all the way around the case and the bottom piece will just come away. :)

Re: 2011 12 back prices spreadsheet

 In 2004 I paid £240 for a R2-D2 12 back AFA 75. I gues that's the premium you pay for AFA :?

Re: Given the recent price rises

The only time I would consider selling is if my wife said it's me or the Star Wars collection. Then I would have to sell some off to pay for the deforce. :?

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

I don't collect fanboy barcodes  Right on. I got the zuckuss for what I would expected to pay for an ungraded one. As Kevin Bacon said for 6 months solid every time I went to the cinema "it's a no brainer" Jez was burning repro a couple of weeks ago. I might burn an AFA sticker and c...

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

Totally agree on the different strokes for different blokes, good saying that I have never heard before. :) A Luke poncho on POTF is easy to pick up ungraded so why pay a premium for graded. I assume you got it cheap :?: Touching the MOCs isn't something that I'm bothered about I look at them as a p...

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

Yeah everyone makes mistakes including the hundreds of collectors that have brought TT, but the zuckuss isn't a mistake. so what's your point :?:

Re: Episode 3 best star wars film.

Star Wars was waiting to be made all other science fiction films were pants up until '77. Typing this wearing my jar jar binks costume and watching Episode 3. If episode 1 had come out in '77 you all would have loved it because George Lucas had a vision for a film at the right time. But he didn't ma...

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

Fair grade on the zuckuss the tear above punch clearly draws the eye which detracts from the overall appearance of what is a nice MOC. Don't see see the point in breaking MOC's out of case. If you don't like AFA don't buy AFA. Nothing wrong with AFA IMO, I've brought a lot less crap since AFA...

Re: AFA Degrading (pic heavy) - For scottie_boy

I found running a stanley knife along the gap just cleanly takes the bottom of the case of so there is no risk of damaging the MOC and you can use the case again. Also the sunlight trick still works when sealed in AFA case. But if your breaking them out anyway no differance  Nice figures, how ...

Hopefully soon I will write/post something interesting. It's always hard to be the new guy and just jump in, for various reasons.

Don't worry about it. I have been here months and still haven't posted anything interesting ;)
