Where are all the toy shops?

Funnily enough I was off work today, I took the kids into town just for a roam about. I decided to give them a history lesson of where the toy shops were when I was growing up. We had four independent toy shops in the Town centre, plus a huge Woolworths a huge Co op and a WH Smith's/ John...

That is incredible, having something you drew as a kid then becoming a collector of what you drew, this has to be framed and displayed. I seriously doubt many collectors will have something like this, this demands to be cherished in a nice frame.

    Last 17

I was fifteen when the last seventeen hit the shops, by then I was well into my Sinclair Spectrum, football, building BMX's and girls. My Star Wars collection was sat in the loft with my Action Man stuff, I don't ever remember seeing any of the last seventeen in shops. I don't feel any affinity...

How did you store your figures first time round?

Back in the day I kept all my figures in a draw in my bedside cabinet with all the weapons. I didn't keep any card backs or boxes for my ships, I do remember trying to convert my X-wing to something similar to the X Bomber ship in Star Fleet

    Cut card predicament

It is still mint and sealed moc even if the card is still only the size of the bubble, you can get a small acrylic case pack the back with bubble wrap to have the front of the bubble touching the front of the case. Better still get an Empire card back to display with it, it would look great...

    Fake Leia Pistol

To me the one on the right when comparing it to the others looks repro, the back is totally different plus it doesn't have a centre seam like the other seven do. All seven have a thin line running all the way down them seemingly where the two piece tooling is put together, the eighth one looks...

What's your most & least favourite type of SW toys to collect?

My favourite has to be the figures, MOC or loose as Robstyley says it's all about the figures. I do have a soft spot for the Mini Rigs as they were affordable when I was a kid as my parents didn't have much money. My least favourite is probably the Droid Factory, I just don't see the point in...

    Old Comic Star Wars Adverts

I know it's not Star Wars but even the Palitoy name just seems to mean so much to me, I remember owning a couple of Poketeers as a child so when I found this advert I had to track a couple down.

    Old Comic Star Wars Adverts

Apologies if this has been covered before but recently I bought a Comic I had never heard off just to have a flick through it, it was a StarLord from 03/06/78 To my absolute joy it had an advertisement for Star Wars Figures I had never seen before, so since them I have tracked down several more...

    Does size matter?

I used to do the same when I was heavily into collecting Vintage Action Man, my son was four or five then and it brought me great pleasure watching him play with the Chieftan Tank and training tower. My wife didn't twig on to the fact I used my sons fascination with them as an excuse to have...
