    RIP Carl Weathers

Agreed, it really does. My brother was lucky enough to have worked with him and confirmed he was an absolute gent.

"We Lost our Human" - animation on Netflix

I just wanted to give a shout-out for a new animation on Netflix, created by my brother and his missus. It's called "We Lost our Human" and is an interactive animation using the same system developed for Black Mirror's "Bandersnatch". It's aimed at children but stylistically looks gorgeous. It...

    Terry Hall RIP

Absolutely agree with the OP, an iconic singer who's gone far too early. I was coming up for my 8th birthday when Ghost Town was number 1. I absolutely loved it though didn't understand the story it told, and only really came to appreciate it a decade or so later. There are so many fantastic...

The Lord of the Rings - The Rings of Power ?

On LOTR... I read the trilogy as a kid, read The Hobbit in later life and also found The Silmarillion impenetrable. I could never be bothered with any of the films so still haven't seen them and the thought of the TV series doesn't excite me either. OK, I know these kind of discussions can...

    David Warner RIP

I was lucky enough to meet him a few years ago. He was incredibly humble and really didn't like being called a star. I chatted to him for a minute or two and had him sign my Tron blu ray, and he was so down to earth.

Football shirt collecting article: Interesting parallels with vintage collecting

I still have a couple of 80s Bradford City shirts, but since they were bought for 15 year-old me they don't go anywhere near me now!! I can absolutely see the appeal of this hobby. Anything I collect either has to have a nostalgic attachment or an appealing design, and just like vintage SW there...

Football shirt collecting article: Interesting parallels with vintage collecting

There's an article on the BBC website about football shirt collecting. It's interesting in its own right but there are clear parallels with how vintage SW collecting has changed over the past 5 or so years. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-61322455

    Classic CGI Re-rendered

Are you asking if it's technically possible to create new CGI models and drop them into the prequels? Similar to how the original trilogy SEs were created?

Promoting the new Robin Robin short I worked on

Looks great mate. Precisely the sort of thing we can put the in-laws in front of on Boxing Day whilst we clear up (and having watched it ourselves already)! My brother works in animation so I can appreciate the huge amount of effort and passion that goes into projects like this. I hope it does...

    ABBA!

I always associate 'Super Trouper' with a hoth stormtrooper. I remember the song playing whilst we were in my dad's car and I had the hoth stormie with me.

Those Death Star instructions and that tri-pod laser cannon... I just don't know what to say.

    Today on Facebook...

There's a guy on fb selling a loose Anakin for £30 + postage. Someone offers him £35 all-in, so the guy counters with £40 and he'll pay for 1st class signed. And the guy says he'll buy it! That's first class signed at just under a fiver. So it's advertised at £30 and someone pays £35 for it...

    Collecting

I seem to be able to sell on things I'm not interested in - doubles, stuff bought as part of lots, etc... It's the 'completist' mentality that's my downfall. There are a couple of bands whose memorabilia/records I collect, and I find myself buying stuff that just gets put away knowing I won't...

    Collecting

I don't have any of my childhood SW, Transformers or Action Man - they were sold in the 80s. I do have most of my lego and various other bits and pieces of stuff. For example, I still have my childhood 'Lego Car Chassis' (8860) which is boxed and complete... but I just can't bring myself to sell...

    Collecting

There's a really interesting article on the BBC website today about collecting memorabilia. It's specifically about one guy's love of football and the collection he amassed over 30 years but I think it'll strike a chord for most of us on here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-57655620...

    Euro 2021 Thread

That second half performance was gutting after the first half, it's almost like someone accidentally pressed the 'old England' button at half-time. Hoofing the ball (when we actually had it) just made it easier for the Italian defence to cope. I understand Southgate's intention with the double...

Yeah, both those are an absolute disgrace. I really, really hope they get hold of whoever did the laser pen thing. I just don't get the booing of the anthems, it makes us look like a country of xenophobic pricks.
