What saber is this

From the 35 loose figure I'm selling, I was just about to prep the Power Droids for sale when I only just noticed there was a blue saber stuck inside one! I don't know anything about loose figures or weapons, but this one looks odd. Compared to the Ben saber above, all its dimensions except length are thinner.

Any idea if it's vintage, if so, what's it from and its value? Cheers

Does it have any markings on the hilt?

I'll have to have a look, but what would I be looking for? It just seems too thin compared to the real one above.

just want I'm looking for, PM sent

The one closest the ruler is the one in question. The confirmed authentic is above that, but that is sold. You can have the one closet the ruler by all means, but first I want to confirm if it's authentic.

Should all the sabers have markings on the hilt if they are original? Or can some have no markings?

Letters were used on Sabers as QC, plastic injected into steel moulds.
The original DT moulds had the QC letters, and as they had a lot of issues with malformation and waste costs, the general consensus is that's why they went to the single telescoping sabers. When they switched they retooled the original moulds to facilitate the change to single telescoping sabers, so the letters stayed, but as the worn out moulds were replaced later the letters were not in the new moulds hence the disappearance of the lettering. You can find letters on both sides of the hilt either side

There's loads of info on sabers on here re letters etc.
