Certainly no other film I know has had such an affect on popular culture, and for such a long time.

i cant ever see anything else like it. it was the first for merchandising on a mass scale, the first for proper sci-fi toys, the first to realise ad campaigns on tv sold goods, and the films weren't bad either :wink:
