Lol- I asked the same thing when I got here.

I don't think I got an answer though.

There was another site- then that died so Edd made this one.

There were a few at the beginining and Todd.

Most of the major posters are now gone from 2006.

Joe came from TIG.

RS views this place as the 'Bartertown' (Mad Max 3) of the Star Wars collecting community.

You may want to check out the events section. A few of us will be at FF4. See the FF3 thread. And of course CE2!

Edd's not the man. Todd is

Actually Edd is from a certain point of view.

Edd is the genius behind all of this filth and talk of little plastic men, a few of us moved to this site when the previous one died off.

It used to have a very small number of members "fnarr fnarr" but its great to see it thriving after taking an enforced break from collecting (having a kid).

There is certainly less filth and swearing on the site than there used to be but I will do my best

Its a great site, run by a top bloke and "moderated" by people with a sensible attitude to moderation.

Long may it continue.

Thanks for all the kind words! I started the forum in December 2005. I had been a member of RS for a while, but I didn't like how strict it was, or the fact the majority of items for sale and members were in America. I was in the middle of a multimedia degree and had just learned some web design, so this was my first website. Here is the original logo:

I started getting people to come here by putting links to it in my eBay auctions. Through sheer luck and word of mouth, within six months it grew to a reasonable size. Then at the end of 2006, disaster struck! I decided to buy a 'proper' domain name (starwarsforum.co.uk) but while moving the site, managed to corrupt the database and lost EVERYTHING. So the forum had to start from scratch, luckily the 'old' members stuck around and helped it grow to what it is today.

I also remember the old header with the POTF coins.

Edd, great to hear why you started the site originally and I'm glad you've let a few of us Americans join in. :)

Not quite true Grant. In reality, TIG was more of an offshoot from here. That's another story for another day.

Michael don't worry about Todd he's a lovable rogue, for some reason though I imagine him to be like Jack from Father Ted.
