2013 Reflections- 2014 Aspirations

Hi guys,

Thought we'd have some fun. Got this idea from a thread on TIG.

I know that a SWFUK is everyone's biggy this year, but a part from that how has it been and what are we doing going forward.

Highlights or me:

01: CE2 (Epic Lads Tour, Hamill, Fisher, Logan etc..)
02: Completed 97 MOC run.
03: Revenge Proof (thanks Bram)

2014:

01: Get another TFP trophy
02: More Autographs
03: A nice cast and crew piece

All in all its been a great year and thanks to all of you that has made it such a joy.

Highlights for me:

01: CE2 SWFUK Tour. Great weekend with great lads in the Falcon. My first time selling cardbacks, was great fun!
02: AFA Graded Palitoy VCJ and Vectis auction. Great to be vindicated after years of naysayers saying they were all fake. Working out the transition from vinyl to cloth cape bubble via the R2D2 transitional bubble
03: The explosion in membership of my star wars vintage group and seeing it turning into a star wars resource in its own right

2014:

01: Get a job so I can start buying again
02: Depending on 01, would like to make more progress on my foreign cardbacks
03: Expanding my palitoy cardback guide into a full blown star wars palitoy guide with vehicles/playsets etc

Highlights for me:

01: I have never received so much Danish Star Wars stuff before

02: I got my first meccano stuff a X-Wing Fighter Box and a Leia cardback

03: I have come to know many of you great collectors on this great forum 8)

2014:

01: More Danish Star Wars Stuff.
02: To find the last vehicles and playsets with box that I am missing.
03: To meet and get to know more of you guys.

2013 Highlights for me...

1. Learning so much more about vintage Star Wars and other vintage lines from people I now consider really good friends.
2. Buying a Sand Crawler to complete my vehicle focus.
3. Meeting Paul Blake (Greedo) and Femi Taylor (Oola) at a tiny Star Wars event in Southampton.

For 2014...
1. Stop getting distracted and complete my loose figure focus!
2. More autographs and events now my daughter is old enough to come with me and enjoy them.
3. Maybe a cardback focus.

Oh and a cheeky 4. Buy a Vintage Shuttle

2013 highlights:
1) Added a few more MOCs to my 77 back run. Amazed how hard they have been to find
2) Added some great pieces to my video game collection, such as the Sega 32X Star Wars
3) Buying a **** load of beaters from various people! Got nearly 500 now :lol:

2014 aspirations:
1) Find the last 3 77 backs I need
2) Hopefully find a sealed Shadows of the Empire for my video game collection
3) Spend more time on the forum

2014-

Getting a really goog moc Jedi Knight Luke.

Finally figuring out which weapons are repros.

Dying from the vintage Star Wars bug.

1. Bidding on and winning a Palitoy Luke Jedi and Biker Scout from my phone whilst on a train from Brussels to Bruges.
2. Getting a Palitoy Die Cast Star Destroyer in excellent (re)sealed condition.
3. Making leaps and strides towards completing the Palitoy carded collection.

2014

1. Complete the Palitoy branded figure collection (some really hard ones to get now!)
2. Get a Palitoy Die Cast Falcon or Y-Wing.
3. Blag an extras role in the new Star Wars film.

1) lads tour to Germany

2) selling my boxed shuttles (thanks doomseeker)

3) achieving my 2013 target of 30 miscards

Hopes for 2014

1) sell all my remaining star wars spares

2) reach my 2014 target of 35 miscards

3) pick some more Palitoy MOC

Great idea Grant.

Star Wars 2013 -
1, The Epic Lads tour, the whole experience, truly epic.
2, Completing my Luke MOC run, including revenge proof, thanks Bram.
3, The second Epic Lads tour, ok thats next week but its still 2013!
Non Star Wars -
1, A fantastic work experience in early 2013.
2, Coming home to my family from that particular experience.
3, Meeting some wonderful people throughout the year.
Star Wars 2014
1, Blagging an extra slot on Eps VII, or some sort of production assistant (i have a face for radio).
2, Doing more Star Wars stuff with my son.
3, Adding to my collection, a decent miscard would be cool.
Non Star Wars
Nothing really, I'll take whatever i get, i'm already more lucky than most and i know it.

3. Getting my Kenner Loose complete Death Star

2014.

1. Complete my loose figures with the last 2 weapons I need.
2. Complete the mini rigs and a few creatures
3. Sign up for CE3!

2013 highlights:
1. CE2
2. Found a few nice additions to my Jawa focus
3. Got a nice start on my Jessica Meade Focus (I might be the 1st to focus on her)
4. Downsized my MOC collection to focus on a few favorite characters

2014 goals:
1. Find a Jawa Star Wars & POTF proof card
2. Track down a Bib Fortuna POTF proof
3. Add another item or two to my small Jessica Meade focus
4. Find a Kea Moll 1st shot/head pull & Droids proof card (been looking since the summer of 2011)
5. Enjoy my small and make some new friends

I only have a few goals, but these ones are tough. I'll be happy if I can reach one or two of my goals next year. Happy collecting everyone!!

Started from scratch in January, so for me

2013 Highlights

1) Getting my first loose figure
2) Getting my first MIB Ship
3) Getting my first MOC

Aspirations for 2014

1) Getting some more TriLogo MOC's (getting more drawn to them as they are the ones I remember opening as a kid!)
2) Completing my loose set (only R2 pop up left!)
3) Meeting some more people off here, learnt loads , made to feel really welcome and made some good new friends, Bram, Iain, Jeff, Lionel, Stephen, Marc, Neil, Liam and Lars to name a few

highs
- finding a moc at a carboot sale which spurred my enthuisam for the hobby when it was dwindling

- managing to restore a ****ed water damaged moc into a kind of displayable beater moc :lol:

lows
- being sniped on ebay too many times
- not finding the cardbacks i wanted too complete my run

2014 objections

catalog my loose collection coo/variants etc
buy more cardbacks
continue buying budget moc's when i can! though prices are going up :?
