Please find below information on Hasbro's 2007 Mini Movies Campaign - Lighsaber, Camera, Action!
Nowââ'¬â"¢s your chance to create your very own little piece of Star Wars history ââ'¬â€œ Hasbro are calling on budding directors to add their own chapter to the greatest sci-fi series of all time.
Last year Hasbro launched Star Wars: Mini Movies in which amateur movie makers were asked to produce a short film using only the iconic range of Hasbro action figures. It was a huge success and so this year the toy company are appealing to directors young and old to create a live action movie using Hasbroââ'¬â"¢s Force Action Lightsabers!
Launched at Celebration Europe - Lightsaber, Camera, Action! is all about fans demonstrating how they use their Lightsaber. The only rules are you use a Hasbro Force Action Lightsaber and the film is under a minute long.
There will be two categories ââ'¬â€œ Padawan (15 and under) and Jedi (16 and over). Finalists will each win an exclusive selection of Hasbro Star Wars goodies. The winner in each category will receive the star prize ââ'¬â€œ a very, very limited edition chrome plated Force Action Lightsaber (rumoured to be one of only a handful in the world and not available to buy). Theyââ'¬â"¢ll also win a state of the art Sony Mini DV Handycam. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Finalists in each category will be chosen by our expert panel of judges including representatives from Hasbro, Empire Magazine, Cartoon Network Magazine and Toxic. They will then be invited to premiere their masterpieces at the The Artoos ââ'¬â€œ the official award ceremony ââ'¬â€œ this November.
Movies must contain at least one Hasbro Star Wars Force Action Lightsaber, be no larger than 5mb and must be in one of the following formats; AVI, MPG, MPEG, WMV or MOV. Entries can be submitted online at http://www.swminimovies.com or via post at LIGHTSABER, CAMERA, ACTION!, PO BOX 42, South East Delivery Office, Manchester, M12 6AY. Closing date for entries is 30/09/07.
