Forum Figure of the Year - 3rd Round - Match 8

The final third round match sees two of the first 12 lock horns. On one side the violent Sand People on the other the heroic astromech droid, R2-D2.

The Tusken topped a tough group which included Luke Farmboy, Han Hoth and Luke Stormie, but his 2nd round match against Death Star Droid was a walk in the park as he brushed him aside 57-15. Sand People getting to the 3rd round has equalled his previous best when in 2016 he also made this round finally losing to 15-11 to the Biker Scout. Previous to that he had been eliminated in the 2nd round then the 1st.

As for the Solid Dome R2, this too is an equal best when he reached the 3rd round in 2015 losing 14-10 to Luke X-wing, last year he saw his chance dashed in the opening round as he failed to clear the group stages. This year he beat Luke X-wing into second in his group as he went through as group winner, then battered the stunning Squid Head 46-21 in the second round.

This should be a great tussle between two great figures.

Tusken all the way for me, a much loved figure as a child and one of my favourite's as an adult.

tough 1 , r2 was 1 of my 1st ever figs and the tusken was another i wanted bad but could never get hold of as a kid

Another tough round but R2 gets my vote as a mark of respect for KB. RIP

like others have said super tough but the tusken has always been my favorite figure so tusken it is!!!

Tusken is such a great sculpt; this round's winner for me

3rd Round finishes with the tightest battle of the year with Tusken and R2 finishing level on 27 votes each. Both will progress to the quarter final and whoever they're drawn will be involved in a three way quarter final shoot out.

As for the final 8, it's all about the bad guys as 6 of the 9 are baddies, whilst only Luke Bespin, Leia and R2 will take up the mantle for the good guys.
