Hello all, I've been looking over one of my loose Fett figures and it seems to have a few differences from the standard HK figure.

1. Dark/light brown belt
2. Unpainted knee pad
3. Painted helmet? It does look like some overpainting to the visor area.

I'd be interested in your comments on this. Obviously it's been a well loved item over the years judging by condition of the paintwork, but it does seem to hold a few interesting features from the standard HK coo Fett. Would it hold much/any value over the standard HK version?

hi,

1. There is a Black belt Hong Kong variant, I think your Boba Fett is Brown.

Link to a recently Black belt variant to compare:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Star-Wars-Boba-Fett-Bounty-Hunter-Figure-HONG-KONG-/222417263035?hash=item33c91a19bb:g:f6kAAOSwx6pYrKCb

2. The unpainted knee pad could be a factory error or it can also be wear to the figure.

3. The only painted helmet variant are Taiwan which are painted in blue.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks to you both for your input on this post. I've just taken a few more snaps to try and highlight what I believe is a pale blue/grey spray sitting over the opposite half to the red overspray to the red visor. I could be wrong, eyes playing tricks on me...

I understand that Taiwan versions are normally the ones found with painted helmets but that was part of the reason for posting this. With regards to the painted belt it looks like it's assembled with dark brown painted pockets to the legs and a lighter brown
to the belt on the torso, variation in manufacture?

The unpainted knee pad must be a factory error then as it doesn't look tampered with.

I've seen a few fetts with unpainted hip pouches and an unpainted knee before. I have one with an unpainted jet pack. I think when the factory was putting the figures together they didn't pay much attention to the colors on the legs and just pieced the limbs together. I have some fetts that have a mix of blue and grey limbs that I'll upload a pic of later.

apack7229 - appreciate the info and sharing some pictures from your own fett collection.

Anyone else able to assist in indentifying if my fett figure does have a part painted helmet?

aussiejames - thanks for your comments. I've just taken a few more pictures for further detail including one with a UV torch. Maybe some of the detail is being lost in the uploading of the images.

not every taiwan fett has a blue painted helmet also . so if your planning on getting one dont overpay for a dark belt (black belt) taiwan fett .
the painted helmet is much rarer

You can see the helmet is not painted, it's just the red paint around the visor that has rubbed off. It's a normal brown belt Fett with one unpainted leg. It's cool but really it's just a beater with an unpainted leg and not worth any more than any other normal playworn Fett

Edit: In my opinion not a variant, just a paint error or possible body part batch change as mentioned.

It's not a patinted helmet. There are several variations of the painted head Fett, ranging from colour and application/coverage.

Taiwan only as previously stated. This is a factory error as the knee armour is unpainted - it doesn't look like wear as there would normally be some remnants of paint in the corners. The mix and match belt and pouches are pretty common.

In the state it's in it's a £20-ish figure at the very best because of the error.
