Just wondered if anyone else knew why a vintage carded figure can have variants on the hole punch? I wondered if it was a COO issue or depending which toy manufacturer actually made them/different machines? See photos of FX-7 ESB as an example. All input welcomed cheers

I've always assumed it depended on when and where the card was made, as different factories would presumably use different punches without a universal standard being imposed by Kenner (and why would they? :)). Of course, I am happy to be corrected if I'm wrong!

Yep - different factories and possibly different batches. I've recently had 2 identical cardbacks and the punches are in noticeably different places

the 3 Hong kong factories that produced figures for kenner were: Kader, Unitoy and Smile. Each had a different hole punch, but as a loose collector I couln't tell you which is which.

Hole punch is 'left to the top centre of card' as a rule I recently found out.

The following link gives a good overview of Trilogo punchs.

Hope that helps.
