Can anyone recommend an acrylic case supplier?

Postby TheJabbaWookie » Tue Nov 14, 2017 8:19 pm

I’ve not had anything put in acrylic before but some of you might know I’ve been lucky enough to stumble across a mint Scout Walker recently and I wanted to get an acrylic case for that and my mint Rancor Monster.

Unfortunately GW Acrylics don’t do a case for either so I wondered who you guys get yours from? Are the ones that make to order as good as GW Acrylic (who seem to be the go to guys at the moment), and are they as competitively priced.

Knowing nothing about acrylic I assume you can access the box and goodies inside. That’s one of the major disadvantages of grading that I see - the fact you can’t get to them and touch (and play) with them.

Any help appreciated.

Jay

UK Graders have acrylic cases for what you have, here is the link:

I have used them in the past for grading loose figures and the cases are good quality.
Have you made contact with Jamie at GW? he often has things comming soon, worth a PM.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I sent a PM through Facebook and they have no plans for either at the moment though he said he’d talk to the bosses. Cheers for link.

Would you opt for the 4mm or 5mm and with or without the UV Protection upgrade?

I have always had the loose figures graded, so the cases aren’t that big, these were 3mm, so suspect that 4mm should be ok.
The difference in price is quite a bit, do you know anyone else that has ordered a case this size before?
I have just looked a the Snow Speeder case by GW and they are 3mm, so surly 4mm should be ok?
I have always opted for the UV protection upgrade.
Hope that helps.

My Mrs bought me one for Christmas and I just got it delivered so I thought I’d share the results. Very happy. She on the other hand was very underwhelmed. She thought for that price she was buying me something with the toy on display too!

It looks very nice buddy. It's a great way to preserve it.

Glad you got that lovely AT ST in a case at last, looks really good.
It’s tough explaining that “no dear it’s meant to be just the case, no toy!”

Yeah she just didn’t get it. Says she won’t be wasting her money on another piece of junk again! Wish I’d said “it may not look like much, but its got it where it counts.”

It works both ways I suppose...”what another pair of shoes”, could easily be turned around into “what another little doll”
I think I have heard both sentences within the last few weeks in our household!
