Original Leia Pistol

Postby Gogsfett » Thu Jan 04, 2018 7:30 pm

Hell,
I am hoping someone might be able to verify is this is an original Leia Blaster.

Bought a few days back off ebay - The Seller was very honest and did say had float tested, drop tested and looked at the best he could, he had owned for 4/5 years and thought all original.

Got for a decent price, hoping might be a bargain!

Sorry couldnt get a better set of pictures

Thanks,

Gordon

It also may help if you let us know the ebay seller's username, as there are several ebay sellers who are well known on here for selling repros.

So that may also be a good indication to help determine what you might have, but as is already mentioned you do need some higher resolution and clear pictures as those ones you've provided are very dark and blurry.

Just found the listing...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLEASE-READ- ... 7675.l2557

From what i'm looking at i'd actually go with genuine, judging from TIG it's a V3, and if it's fake then it's a good one.

But don't take my word for this though i'm not an expert, i'd wait for other opinions.

Instead of trying to get the phone/camera close to get a good picture, keep the phone a decent distance away so it can focus and then crop the picture after to get a bigger sharp focussed image. Most phones also let you choose what to focus on by tapping on the screen on the point you want to focus on too... these seem to be focussed on the table rather than the weapon

I would say you’re looking at a v2 blaster there Chief. The only thing that is throwing me is that the blaster looks blue in the photos, however I think in earlier posts it looks darker. Can you clarify colour for me.

Secondly crisper photos would help as Steve says. Would be worth adding a shot of the back of the blaster and also one from below. I’m pretty certain it’s not one of the new batch of Repro Blasters but those last two shots would confirm as the rear end is distinct and the width of the clip is much wider and this can be seen easily from below.

Looks good to me. You can see how the back end compares to the new repros. Notice the lack of seam running up the back of the new repros. Yours has a distinct line.

There are no other known floating repros on the market that mimic the Leia Blaster so precisely.

Thanks mate for looking over this and thanks to everyone else who has also made comments, a wealth of knowledge!

Will also need to study the TIG in more details as also seems to be loads of info there.

Cheers again. :D

Also be aware in future that whoever made these new repro's very quickly produced more and amended the back end to match the original shape, so there's also repro's out there without this square back end.
